The center of the road is seasonal and not maintained October through April so there is limited amounts of traffic! Rural, quiet and peaceful. A short driveway with ample parking leads to the house. Designed by @hutsnyc, 'Lil Rita is 10x20' and full of modern touches with a simple style. The main living space on the first floor includes a cozy sitting area, dining table, kitchen and wet room. Up a ladder, enter the lofted bedroom with cushy mattress and fantastic views. Three large sliding doors let in the sights and sounds of the country. The forest canopy and woods that surround the cabin allow for a connection with nature. Whether you are a solo traveler looking for a reset, or if you are traveling with a friend or loved one, this is the intimate space you need to unwind. Satellite internet with 25mbps is perfect for a solo traveler or couple looking to stay connected while on vacation. There is a shed at the front of the property that used for storage and is not included in the reservation. We are only an email or phone call away and are available as needed. Please remember that you are staying in a house, not a hotel. If any problems arise we will do our best to take action as soon as possible but there is no one living on-site. Delaware County NY is a four season vacation destination. In the summertime there are yard sales, farmers markets, fairs and more. Outdoor activities include hiking, biking and fishing. Fall is for leaf peeping. Drive down the country roads, pick apples and pumpkins and enjoy nearby town harvest festivals. Winter is packed full of activities. There are two ski centers nearby that offer tubing, skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing (as well as summer activities like hiking, biking and concerts). Restaurants often showcase locally made or grown food like cheese, bread, meat, fruit and vegetables. Shops abound, there's always something to see! Winter weather can be mercurial. Check the weather report for this area and plan your travel accordingly. 4WD or AWD vehicles are necessary between October through April when snow, ice and mud are likely. Snow plows do not operate on secondary roads between 8PM and 5AM so in the winter plan your travel accordingly. If you are unfamiliar with driving in the snow, particularly uphill, search online for tips. Sites like AAA have good information. The driveway is plowed and shoveled to the entrance. The driveway is plowed every several inches of fallen snow but if it is snowing, there may still be snow on the driveway. A shovel is provided, please keep the walkway maintained during your stay. Check-In and Check-Out: Plan your travel on our listed 4PM arrival and 11AM departure times. Changes in times may be available for an additional fee if possible. Please give at least 24 hours notice for requests, last minute requests may not be possible as cleaning and service schedules are planned in advance. The house is in an area with no cell service. Turn on Wifi Calling from your cell phone settings to make and receive phone calls. For a smooth arrival, make sure to write down arrival instructions before traveling so you have the address, door code, WiFi and contact information. The bedroom is in a loft accessible by ladder. Guests should have the ability and feel comfortable climbing a ladder. The water has a sulphur smell. It's fine for bathing in but guests will want to bring water for drinking and cookings. The outdoor shower is potentially partially visible from a small part of the road, a bathing suit is recommended. The shower is open May 1 to September 30th.
