Welcome to A Red Chalet! This peaceful home perched on a hillside in picturesque Linville is a wonderful getaway destination. You and your loved ones are sure to enjoy the recent updates made to this home, all designed with guests' comfort and enjoyment in mind.  Relax in the airy great room under the antler chandelier while you watch your favorite movies & shows on the large TV mounted above the gas log fireplace. Or maybe a friendly competition is more your speed - challenge your loved ones to a fun game of shuffleboard or air hockey! Preparing meals is a breeze in the kitchen with ample counter space and stainless steel appliances including a Keurig and a French door fridge/freezer. There's room for 4 to sit at the island and space for 8 at the long dining table, so everyone can enjoy a meal together.  Time for bed? A Red Chalet offers three bedrooms. On the main level you'll find a King bedroom and a bedroom with a King bed and Queen/Queen bunk beds. These rooms share a full bathroom with a shower & double vanities. Upstairs is a King suite with private bath with tub/shower. There's also a foldout sofa in the living room.  Sit on the deck and let the cool mountain breezes relax you. At over 4,150 feet elevation the air up here is always refreshing. Watch for shooting stars after nightfall, or tell stories and make s'mores around the campfire.  A Red Chalet is located in southern Avery County, just past the charming towns of Linville and Newland. It is about 25-30 minutes to downtown Banner Elk and Sugar Mountain, about 35-40 minutes to Beech Mountain, and 45 minutes to either Boone or Marion. With so much just a short drive away, you're sure to love staying at A Red Chalet!  Additional Notes: - This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets to this home or requesting an exception to this rule.  - There is just one step to enter the main level, and a full flight to enter the second story.  - Firewood for the outside firepit may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a fire starter for $25/night plus tax. Please don't use the firewood on the indoor fireplace!  - Check-in is after 4pm and Check-out is by 10am.  - This home has a gravel driveway with graveled capacity for 2 vehicles and the road to it includes a sharp switchback turn. 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November-March and Chains may also be necessary during inclement weather. Low-slung or very large vehicles are not recommended to access this home any time of year.  - All BRMR homes come with a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. - Towels and linens will be provided for you.   - Repeat guests of A Red Chalet will receive a 10% discount for visiting again!  CANCELLATION POLICY: You may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. If you cancel more than 60 days before arrival, you will receive a refund of the amount paid to date. Cancellations within 31-60 days before the arrival date will be refunded 50%. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival do not receive a refund unless the property is rebooked. If you purchase travel insurance and the reason for the cancellation is covered, you may recover the entire amount.
