Southmoreland is a historic 1913 Mansion whose goal is to provide hospitality and comfort. It is conveniently located in the heart of Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza. If your goal is to find a unique alternative to the classic downtown hotel, then look no further! The main floor boasts a living room with a gas fireplace and wet bar, a dining room with a lengthy wood table and a sunroom with a porch swing. The veranda is lined with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the garden in summer. The Main House consists of 12 bedrooms located on all 3 floors of the Main House. You will have access to the kitchen as well as all common areas in this private rental of the Main House. Rooms boast a host of amenities including: shower-tub combos, a few large jacuzzi bathtubs, armchairs in a few rooms, private patios in a few rooms, private toilets, king-sized or queen-sized beds, keurig coffee makers, and mini fridges. **We do allow events to be hosted onsite, but additional event fees may apply. Please reach out to Management for questions, details, and a tour of the House if you wish to host an event and use the house for more than simply overnight lodging. All outdoor or evening events require rental of the Whole Property, and a security officer presence, handled by Management. The House features sumptuous seating and contemporary ease making it a prime location to unwind. Between our harvest dining room, sunroom, veranda and outdoor patio you can host 28 guests for a stayover, and up to 40 guests for an onsite event. Plan your intimate family gathering, wedding, or corporate event. The Property features 24 hour secure access. Guest entrance doors and interior room doors are equipped with WiFi enabled locks set to a secure code unique to you during your stay. We want all guests to feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. We offer contactless check-in to allow you ease and flexibility for arrival. The room is all yours with no staff interruptions, but we are only a phone call away for any questions or concerns, if you have any. We are available during daytime hours for questions and guest needs and have an answering service in the evenings for concerns and emergencies. It is situated within steps of the Nelson Atkins Art Museum which is world famous and incredibly picturesque, as well as the Kemper Museum for Contemporary Art, and the Kansas City Art Institute. Have a picnic on the lawn of the Nelson and then walk to the Plaza Shopping district for more fun! Being located so close to the Country Club Plaza and downtown, Uber rides will be a minimal expense. You can also walk to the many beautiful sites near the House. *5-minute walk to the Plaza or 15-minute walk to Westport. *5 minutes to all major interstates in the Kansas City area. *5-minute walk to Nelson Atkins Art Museum, Kemper Museum for Contemporary Art, and The Kansas City Art Institute. *30 minutes to Kansas City International Airport, Arrowhead Stadium, Kauffman Stadium and most anything else in KC. Individual rooms will not have access to the kitchen, however, there is a microwave in the dining room for all guests. We have limited parking available in the driveway (14 spaces); please bring your most compact vehicle. There is typically street parking available as well. **We require all Main House group rentals to sign a group contract for rental of the space. Event fees may apply for groups wishing to host events onsite; this is in addition to using the house simply for lodging only.
