At the Cloran Mansion Bed & Breakfast, we aim to provide each of our guests with the comforts of modern travel in the setting of a beautiful, historic home. The Cloran Mansion was built in 1880 by Irish immigrants John and Ann Cloran, who settled in Illinois in the 1840s. It is a lovely example of Victorian-era Italianate architecture. But it is also full of amenities to pamper you in style. There are five guest rooms in the house itself and a guest cottage right outide of the home. These rooms vary in size and features, but they all have private baths, five with double Jacuzzi tubs. Each room has either a gas or electric fireplace, Comphy brand bedding, cable TV, and coffee on demand. Please visit our website to choose the room that most appeals to you. A full breakfast is served each day, family style, in our elegant dining room at two different seatings, 8:30 or 9:30. We are happy to accommodate special dietary needs -- just let us know when you make your reservation. The Cloran Mansion also sits on 1.5 acres of grounds that feature a gazebo, a pond with waterfalls, lovely gardens, an arbor, and a patio with a fire pit. There is plenty of parking on site, and it is just 1.5 miles down Franklin Street to Main Street. That means we are close enough to enjoy what downtown Galena has to offer but far enough away to enjoy a retreat. Pets are welcome in Antonio's Cottage. Small children are welcome in Sara's Room and Antonio's Cottage. Please feel free to call with any questions.
