  • This quaint town, established in 1742, was named for Princess Louisa (daughter of king George II) and is filled with American history and a diverse heritage. In the 1800's Louisa became a crossroads of America, with many major travel routes crossing through, which made this town a major player in the Civil War. Moving forward into the 20th century Louisa became a major player in agriculture with many organic, community, and Amish farms being built. In the 1970s Lake Anna was built, becoming a location for retirees and vacationers. Louisa is a place where history and nature come together to create a wonderful east coast getaway.
