This home formerly belonged to Lisette Mueller, who served as midwife at the birth of Fredericksburg's most famous son, Admiral Chester Nimitz.  Redesigned years ago as a duplex, Bijou offers two completely separate accommodations, Suite Jeannine and Suite Charmaine (with no interior door connecting the two units). Thoughtful renovations were completed throughout this home’s interior, preserving much of its original charm while adding modern style and conveniences. Neutral colored shiplap walls and stunning wide plank wood floors form the backdrop of the interior spaces.  Suite Charmaine (pronounced Shar-Mane) is on the right portion (east side), offering plenty of room to spread out with approximately 1500 square feet divided between two floors. Relax in the living room and enjoy a movie on the wall mounted 42” flat screen TV with cable. The suite’s kitchenette offers a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker with just enough space for preparing simple meals or snacks. The master suite is also on the main level, offering a king bed and en suite bathroom with an oversized shower for two. Upstairs you will find the second bathroom (with tiled shower), as well as two additional bedrooms, both boasting spacious king beds.  (PLEASE NOTE: the stairs are original and are very steep, retaining the home’s historic authenticity. Guests with mobility issues should not reserve Suite Charmaine.) - Quiet Time is from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, per City Ordinance - If we are called due to complaints violating Quiet Time: 1st Offense will result in a $250 fine.  2nd Offense will result in a $500 fine.  If police are called, you are responsible for any fines or fees issued with the citation or warning. If police are called there will be a $500 fine, even if no citation  is issued.
