River Park Inn

About the Inn

As a Hotel Alternative, River Park Inn offers a more genuine, authentic lodging experience. In the common areas and five uniquely decorated guest rooms, you will find a clean, comfortable "home away from home". Perch on the screened balcony or lounge on the porch swing and enjoy your morning coffee as the sun rises over the St. Johns River. Later be entertained as squirrels frolic in the grass, birds chirp in the tall oaks and children play in the park. A full hot breakfast is included as well as refreshments, free parking and WiFi. Lunch and dinner are on your own. There are several fine, locally owned restaurants within walking distance. If you like to plunder you will enjoy our local thrift store and antique shops. St. Augustine and the outlet malls are within 30 minutes. The Clay County Fairground, only 5 miles away, offers many events such as the NE Florida Highland games in February and other concerts and shows all year. Originally built in the late 1800's as a cottage for the more retiring guests of the famous Clarendon Hotel, River Park Inn is recognized as a Florida Heritage Site and it is a contributing site to the Historic District of Green Cove Springs on the National Register. Opened in 1997 as a bed and breakfast lodging, it is the city's last vestige of the grand Hotel Era when wealthy folks came to Green Cove Springs for the "cure" provided from the warm water mineral spring. The spring, across the street from the inn, still provides 1300 gallons/minute of pure, chemical free, warm water that constantly refreshes the community swimming pool and then flows into the St. Johns River. Last but not least is the fishing pier, complete with boat slips and a kayak launch. Readily available to all to enjoy is the self guided historic walking tour brochure from a basket on the front porch
