The owner, Esther Blakley, is a University of Florida Certified Master Naturalist. Estherís goal is to provide you with an in-depth personal experience that is sure to be the highlight of your trip to the Smokies! Guests are picked up here at Oak Hill and transported comfortably in an eco-friendly and luxurious Chevy Tahoe Hybrid SUV. No need to be concerned about navigating the curvy gravel road over the mountain and into the valley. Esther begins her tour as you leave the driveway, as she shares some of the history of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Once you arrive in the park, you will be lead on a Ĺ mile round-trip hike (comfortable closed toe shoes recommended) that crosses a narrow log footbridge over a picturesque creek. Youíll discover the how, when, where and why the elk were reintroduced into the Smokies, and view these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. You may also encounter other inhabitants of the park such as; white-tailed deer, black bears, salamanders and many species of birds like cedar waxwings, indigo buntings, wild turkey and ruffed grouse. Cataloochee Valley is one of those special places that is not easy to get to, but hard to forget. If you want to venture there, go with Cataloochee Valley Tours. It will certainly be an unforgettable experience! Visit Cataloochee Valley Tours for pricing and more information on nature tours. Guided Fly Fishing Trip Rates:
Our region offers an abundance of trout and smallmouth bass fishing against a backdrop of majestic mountains, forests, rivers and streams. Fly fishing in Western North Carolina with Curtis Wright Outfitters will ensure the best opportunity for you to enjoy this unique area and catch some spectacular fish. Here in the mountains of WNC, we have hundreds of miles of wild trout water to fish, including dozens of secluded native brook trout streams in the high elevations, as well as many larger trout rivers in both North Carolina and East Tennessee. If you are interested in fishing for smallmouth bass, our professional fly fishing guides will show you where these explosive fish hide. The smallmouth top water action in WNC is renowned as some of the best in the Southeast. We target these fish with both spin gear and on the fly. There's no better way to experience the larger rivers of WNC and Eastern Tennessee than in a boat. Float trips cover between 3-9 miles of river depending on the trip. Floating is preferred by many as the most effective way to fish the larger rivers and enjoy a lot of magnificent scenery.
