About The Property

Come enjoy a relaxing get away in our historic cabin where the old meets the new! This 90 year old cabin was originally built as a summer cabin to house lake workers. It has been revamped with a modern twist inspired by wildflowers. The cabin is just south of Grand Lake. It is extremely easy to access year-round via car, has great views of Rocky Mountain National Park, and boasts all of the modern amenities to make you feel comfortable during your stay. Unwind, explore & relax in our wonderland! Follow on Instagram and tag your stay @WildAcreCabins The cabin is located just 3 miles south of Grand Lake, only a 5 minute drive into town. Venture into Rocky Mountain National Park, located just 6 minutes away or be at the slopes in Winter Park in just 35 minutes! The cabin boast three (small) bedrooms as it was originally built as a summer cabin solely to house workers who built Lake Granby in the 1930's. The cabin has been fully updated to feature all of the modern amenities you are used to at home including a full kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, refrigerator, microwave and large sink. The cabinets are stocked with basic cooking essentials including pots, pans, cutlery, etc. The full bathroom is brand new and boasts a walk in shower with a rain shower head. The large deck on the front of the cabin will be sure to allow you to maximize your outdoor living in the summer months. The cabin is stocked with all of the essentials including basic toiletries, towels and linens. There is also a small beverage station featuring coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Two parking spaces are provided per booking. A parking map will be provided in the check in instructions. If you plan on bringing a trailer for a boat or snowmobiles, please inform us ahead of time so we can accommodate a parking space nearby for you. **Winter Adventurers: Sapphire Sage is the perfect, reasonably priced, getaway for Winter Park and Granby Ranch skiers. Winter Park Ski resort is only 35 minutes away. Granby Ranch Ski Area is a 20 minute drive for those new to skiing or skiers looking for a more affordable mountain. After skiing your heart out, we are very closer to Hot Sulfur Hot Springs. It is a hot springs open year round perfect for unwinding after skiing. The cabin is located off of a major county road that is plowed so winter accessibility is available as long as the roads are open. Other popular winter activities in the area include snowmobiling, dog sled tours, snowshoeing and snow tubing. The cabin has a key-less entry lock. A code will be provided upon booking. Things to note: Because of the cabin's easy access to roads, this cabin will not offer absolute silence and seclusion and may not be the place for you. You will hear highway noises during your stay. In winter, this proximity is appreciated by guests because of the snow. Like most mountain homes in this area, there is also proximity to neighbors. We recommend having a car to get around during your trip. There is phenomenal hiking, wildlife, skiing, and hot springs all within a 30 minute drive (or less) of the cabin! If you are traveling during the winter months, November through March, we highly recommend an AWD or 4WD vehicle so that you don't have any issues getting over Berthoud Pass. Winter weather can start as early as October and go as late as May. Please check the weather and plan ahead! **There are two main routes into Grand Lake if you are coming from the East. The quickest way is to take I-70 to Berthoud Pass. Denver to Grand Lake is a 2 hour drive. The second route, over Trail Ridge Road through RMNP is more scenic and costs $25/car. If you drive from Denver, over Trail Ridge Road and into Grand Lake it is about a 3 hour drive. **Please note that Trail Ridge Road is closed throughout the winter as most of the road is above treeline. Please visit https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/road_status.htm to check daily closures of the road. Cancellation Policy: To receive a full refund on a booking, a guest must cancel the reservation 14 days prior to their check in date.
