It's a safe area, but people uncomfortable with a diverse urban environment should consider other options. Our neighbor is remodeling, and using the fenced area beside us for construction debris. While it won't impact your stay, it is occasionally unsightly. WHERE YOU'LL BE: The North Side is an old neighborhood full of Pittsburgh history, and now it's one of the fastest growing areas in the 'Burgh. With the revitalization of the North Shore, the whole area is quickly developing into a lively urban hub of activity. Friendly old locals, new hipsters, starving artists, young professionals, and more are now calling the diverse North Side home. The location is excellent, with lots of activities in a short walk - you're less than a mile walk from PNC Park and Heinz Field, with all of the bars & restaurants you could want in between. There are parks, museums, the National Aviary, breweries, and more, all with easy access to downtown. Two of the top restaurants in Pittsburgh, Fig & Ash, and Siempre Algo, are three blocks away, and Allegheny City Brewery is four blocks over!
