The Back Haus is a newly renovated studio home in Joshua Tree with incredible views of the entire desert from the front yard. Located within 5 miles of the Joshua Tree National Park entrance and a short 5 minute drive to town. It is a studio (bedroom without walls or doors) and the house has its own driveway for privacy.• LIGHTThe house has skylights that do not have any coverings. That means that when the sun rises, it can be bright in the house. We do have blackout blinds that cover the entire length of the glass wall for privacy.• NOISEThere is a fence that separates the two homes for privacy but you may hear our dog or pig roaming around in our yard. Both come inside at sunset. There are delivery trucks (USPS, UPS and FEDEX) that come to the main house regularly. They do not come to your side of the property but if the blinds are open in the back haus, you may be able to see them coming up our driveway (not your driveway, you have a separate driveway).• PETSPets off all kinds are NOT allowed.• A/C & HEATERBack Haus is cooled and heated by a central hvac system to keep you comfortable all year long.• FIREDue to the location and a current fire ban there is a strict no open flames fire policy BUT the propane fire pit located outside if allowed.If it is discovered that you have started an outside fire, in a fire pit, using fireworks or other open fire (propane excluded when used IN the propane firepit and propane grill provided) means your rental agreement will be terminated and there is a $200 fine.• WIFIDesert wifi can be super spotty and can go in and out. We have the best service for our rural area (spectrum) which has been dependable and fast for us to work from home.• GUESTSYou are not permitted to have any guests on the property beyond those included in your rental agreement unless you request and receive permission from us. That includes day guests and over night guests.• IDENTITY VERIFICATIONYou will receive a text or email from Guest Ranger that will ask you to verify your identity and submit a picture of a government issued ID and a selfie. This information will be used to verify that the booking guest matches the credit card used and to help reduce any issues with identity theft. This process is mandatory to complete the booking. The data is protected in a hash-encrypted vault following data security standards including GDPR. Data-input in the vault is encrypted in a two-way function where information is scrambled using an encryption key and unscrambled later using a decryption key. On top of that, we use hashing to add an extra layer of security using a one-way function where a unique message digest is generated from an input file or a string of text.
