We were looking for a place with boat access, a pool, and a home large enough to invite an extended set of family or friends! When we found this home located on a small crescent-shaped island, we knew it was perfect. Finding out our cove was actually a spring and one of the secret places that the tour companies bring people to swim with manatees - was a bonus! I hope you enjoy it! ...If planning to book it is important that you KEEP READING. There is important info. ABOUT THE SPACE: There is LOTS OF INFO HERE!!! Please read thoroughly before booking - or asking questions. We have had guests miss out because they were asking questions that were already answered here and someone else took their dates. Read on! This home is perfect for families, vacationing couples, and groups of friends who love the water! It is not available for what Airbnb terms 'events'. Which are loud disruptive parties. We like our neighbors and want them to like us. Are you 2 couples that like to vacation together but would still like some privacy? You could consider the layout as essentially 2 king suites plus guest rooms. Overall, there are 2 king bedrooms and 2 bedrooms each with 2 queen size beds. Beyond that, there are 2 sofa sleepers, 1 in each of the living areas. A total of four bedrooms, 8 beds, and 2 baths. So, 16 sleeping spaces are available as long as your group is configured accordingly. Two or three families or generations of family could easily vacation together in this fabulous home. Let's talk about the views. Sunsets from the water or nearby Ft Island beach. Cranes, storks, and pelicans that love the private dock and sometimes come right up on the pool deck - and then fly off while you try to sneak closer to take that photo. Was that a fish jumping out of the water? Yes, it was a mullet and how do they do that? And the manatees? Yes, they seem to love our cove. We saw a herd(?) of 12 the other day right from the dock. The water was so clear and they were chomping away at the yummy sea grass! We can't guarantee they are here year-round but they are here much longer than we've found them at places like Three Sisters Springs. And how about some other important amenities? The dock, the pool, and the patio? The dock is floating and the water is still 3 ft deep at low tide. Access to put your boat in the water is nearby, as is the outlet to the gulf. Easy to head out to your favorite scalloping spot, while knowing you can come back to an exclusive, quiet retreat. There are always plenty of fish near the dock, so you can fish from there or take out one of our fishing-outfitted kayaks or your own boat. In photos, you may see a boat lift. It will be available for month-long stays only, but is currently waiting for repair. The unique, combo spa and heated salt water pool is accessible from the sunroom and from one of the master bedrooms, and visible from the wall of windows surrounding the sunroom along the entire back of the house. As i mentioned, the pool is unique. Around 3/4 of the edge is a spa-like bench with jets. Hence, it is a combo pool and spa! And it has a waterfall. There is plenty of room for sunbathing after you have finished splashing. Prefer the sand? Just down the road a few miles is Fort Island Trail Beach. A very nice gulf beach with great sand and great sunsets! Need more reasons to stay here? A large kitchen, with all the tools you might need. Large eating, living and entertaining spaces for big families, groups of friends or small business groups. Need office space for your 'workation'? We have high speed wifi, and I am writing all of this from a desk in the sunroom overlooking the cove while watching an Osprey diving into the water for a tasty morsel! And there goes a mullet leaping out of the water! ACCESS INFO: You will have access to the entire home and grounds with one exception being a storage room for our cleaners. The front door will be accessed with a personalized code for the smart lock. There are two outdoor closets with push-button locks that hold items for the pool and kayaking, etc. The kayaks will be secured with a cable and a combination lock. INTERACTION: We are not always local, but we have support staff if you need anything. We also provide a tablet kiosk with access to the house manual, guidebooks, etc. We are very prompt at responding to questions through our booking system, and hopefully, we will have provided you with everything you need to know for a wonderful stay. NEIGHBORHOOD: As I mentioned, we are on a crescent shaped island. When you drive over the one lane bridge, watch for oncoming cars or pedestrians, and go slowly. As you reach the island, one of the first things you see straight ahead will be the cove on the inside of the crescent, across the water will be our dock and the back yard of the house. Once again, always drive slowly, there are 16 homes on the island and always friendly people out walking on the narrow, paved road. TRANSIT: We're not far off of US19/98. So it's easy to get around. But not a mecca for public transportation. US19 takes you to Homosassa Springs and Weeki Wachee to the the south and Three Sisters spring, etc in Crystal River just to the north. Tampa is the nearest major airport. The best way to get there is via the Suncoast Parkway (SR589). You currently catch it just East of Crystal River by taking W Venable St. The Parkway takes you straight to the airport. This is also the fastest way to get to Clearwater area beaches That expansion also brings the Suncoast Trail trailhead to within a few miles of our home. Just another example of the broad access we have to outdoor activities. OTHER NOTES: This final section will briefly cover some of the house rules and other important booking information. The complete house rules are available to view before you complete your reservation on our booking site: Because of issues with parties and disruptive events, at this time, Airbnb, for example, does not allow gatherings of more than 15 people - even just during the day. If you've ever had a pool you know it can take more work sometimes than a once-a-week visit from 'the pool guy'. While you're staying you may need to do a few maintenance things to ensure that it is available when you want it. For example, there are lots of trees and leaves get in the pool. You will need to empty the skimmer basket and use the net to remove leaves from the bottom. The easiest thing to say is, let us know and we will talk you through what you can do. And none of it is hard. There is more about maintenance in the house manual. There are "Extras" available to purchase through our Guest Portal. You will be able to pay upfront for things like: a damage waiver, use of kayaks, a late checkout, a supply of breakfast groceries waiting for you in the fridge in case you arrive too late to go to the store, a cleaning by our housekeeper during your stay, electric heat for the pool, etc. Regarding pool heating, we have an electric heat pump for the pool. During the warmer seasons, additional heat may not be needed. But some still prefer it. The electric heat can get it up to 85 on cold days. Use of the electric heater costs $20 per day according to the electric company. Select it as on EXTRA on the Guest Portal if you want to use it. You will not need it most of the year. But please be aware, if it is unseasonably cold, even the electric heat pump is not guaranteed to reach a specific temperature. Please note you are paying for the electricity, not for an outcome, so there will be no refunds. There are security cameras on the front door, and showing the dock. But none inside - that would be creepy! We had to install the cameras, not only for trespassers but because we've had guest counts that exceeded what was reserved. This is not nice. Please be honest. And please note: We price based on how many are staying in the home. And we make sure it is a good value for either a retired couple of snowbirds or a big family on an adventure-filled vacation. We fell in love with this home for different reasons. I love the massive master suite with a slider to the lanai and room for all our kids and grandkids to visit. For him, less practical maybe but "you had me at the palm trees". You walk thru the front doors directly onto a large foyer and a view through the living room of the lanai and pool with woods behind. We were home! Just perfect. I hope you enjoy it! ...If planning to book it is important that you KEEP READING. There is important info. ABOUT THE SPACE: There is a lot of information in these descriptions that you may not get from the generic boxes Airbnb has for me to check or even the photos. Please take the time to read everything to know what you are getting! The mature palm trees are spectacular, but so is the house. And it all leads your gaze to the pool and lanai. An entire wall of moving glass doors overlooks the pool off of the living area; and there is even a full bathroom in the courtyard. Wow. What a view. 6 bedrooms it says? 3 huge bedrooms, a game room, a den and an office - all with doors for private sleeping arrangements - surround an open living area with a fantastic, fully appointed kitchen available for your use. It's almost like the house in the game "Clue". We had really high standards for a master suite. And this home checks all the boxes. Large, with a sitting area overlooking - and accessible to - the pool. Enormous walk-in closet. Gigantic master bathroom with multiple sinks, a huge shower and a separate 2 person jetted tub. And, one thing that was a bonus. A sauna. Just perfect. The other bedrooms are at the other end of the house. They are large and share the other full bathroom that is larger than many master baths! And remember, there is a third bath off the lanai. Both are easily accessible to the pool and the house. To add to the argument that you might have with each other regarding "what is the best feature of the house?" Did I mention the pool and lanai? Fully screened with a covered lanai housing a large dining lounge set and four large, cushioned chaises surrounding the newly resurfaced and heated pool. Originally, we added a solar heating system to the pool for a renewable energy solution. That wasn't warm enough for everyone so we also put in an electric heat pump that can handle cloudy days and colder guests. Solar heat is included. There is an additional daily fee for using electric heat. Also, be aware that if the weather is unseasonably cold, even the electric heat pump is not guaranteed to achieve any certain temperature. We also wanted to make the out-of-doors more a part of your experience. A gas grill, a charcoal grill, and a firepit. The firepit sits under a tall canopy of trees surrounded by citronella buckets and sparkling lights. A magical place to spend your evenings visiting and making s'mores. There is a grove of trees and bushes that create a thicket that adds a great deal of privacy to the front yard. Once, when our daughter and her family visited; she took it upon herself to make a special place in that grove. She hollowed out the center of the grove and found a way of setting up the hammock that I previously hadn't found a place for. I now call it "Hillary's Hammock Hollow". That name probably deserves a plaque! It is an awesome spot to get away from it all in relative privacy. The other new inspiration was to install two separate fences. One outside in the backyard for pets, the other - inspired by my active, toddler grandson - is a child/dog fence on the lanai blocking off the pool. This will add a great degree of comfort to any parents with small children. You can now enjoy the lanai without watching them every second around the pool. It will be installed only for guests with small children by request and can be removed altogether or partially opened for access to the pool. ACCESS INFO: You will have access to the entire home and grounds with a few exceptions. The garage will be off-limits as well as one of the closets in the master suite. We will put anything private in those locations. So, you can feel confident that you are free to use anything else. Also, the camper is not available to guests at this time. INTERACTION: At this time, you being in the home means that we are likely up north. However, sometimes work might call us to Florida and we might need to stay in the camper that we store on the property for a few days. So, we are incredibly close to all of these spring-fed rivers and some of the most spectacular clear water kayaking, paddle boarding, and manatee watching anywhere. Inside is a queen sized bed with day bed that converts to two twins and a couch, the half bath is though the garage from that room. Please note that the owners car is covered in the garage so no garage parking The 2nd floor features a balcony with four chairs as well as a large eating table . Inside is an open concept living , dining, and kitchen area with ample seating - A sofa and two extra comfy chairs. The spacious kitchen is well equipped and has stainless steel appliances. The large bar in the kitchen has bar stools and is great for serving and entertaining. The second floor also features the master bedroom with king sized bed and private bath. . A second bedroom has a queen sized bed . . A third bedroom has a queen bed and has a bathroom across the hall. The bathroom also has the washer and dryer. Paradise Found has free wi-fi, and all bedrooms have TVs. There are three beaches near by. Rogers Park is a manmade beach a long the Weeki Wachee River, which has crystal clear water and 74 degrees year round and it is about a 7 min drive . Pine Island is along the Gulf of Mexico and is about a 12 min drive Sunwest Park is a manmade beach with an inflatable playground on the water. It also has wakeboarding and volleyball. That is a 12 min drive. An ample supply of bed linens and towels are included, as well as professional cleaning before and after each visitor. Come enjoy Paradise Found – have fun in the private pool, get sand between your toes on one of the local beaches, enjoy the shells and discover the turtle nests (but please do not disturb), take a bike ride, go fishing in the Gulf, scalloping, or just enjoy the sunshine around the pool while you grill a hamburger on the charcoal grill. You might even walk down to the nearby and enjoy an ice cream or dinner at one of the local restaurants. Paradise Found is definitely a place to totally relax. Rates are discounted from April 25-Aug 15 2023 due to new pool going in. You will have a walkway to the seawall and boat dock to fish, kayak or use your boat if you bring one. You will not have access to the back first floor deck. It will be fenced off. Workers could be there for some of your stay or none at all. It will depend on where they are with the job and if they are waiting for inspections. On a canal that takes you out to the Gulf in just a few mins.! Use the kayaks or just relax on the private dock and watch the dolphins and manatees swim by. Amenities are plentiful and can host a large family (or TWO). It's an EASY drive to the beach.
