Newcastle Inn, located at the top of the Pemaquid Peninsula, has been welcoming guests for over 80 years. Located in the charming coastal village of Newcastle, just steps from Damariscotta, this historic inn is centrally located and an ideal "launching pad" for exploring this special part of MidCoast Maine. Whether you are looking for a "taste of the river" by eating delicious Damariscotta River Oysters, antiquing, visiting the many artist studios and galleries or taking in the breathtaking beauty of the area by walking/hiking at one of the many land preserves, this area has it all! The inn has 14 guest rooms, all named for a Maine lighthouses, which are all individually decorated and each has a private bathroom. For the occasional warm day, all guest rooms have a window air conditioner or one that that been installed through the wall. In the morning a delicious, made-from-scratch breakfast is served from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. If you need to leave early to catch a ferry, or plane, we can prepare a "breakfast to go" bag for you. Our coffee is a special blend created for Newcastle Inn and you won't find it anywhere else! During the warmer months, we also serve breakfast outside on the deck, overlooking the Damariscotta River. One of the things that sets Newcastle Inn apart is the abundance of welcoming common spaces on the first floor. Choose between a screened porch, cozy sitting room, the pub (beer and wine for sale), outside deck or the living room with a beautiful stenciled floor. Outside you will find beautiful gardens and chairs to sit in and relax while taking in the view of the Damariscotta River. During the day you can explore Boothbay Harbor, Camden, Rockland and Bath, all just a short 20 - 40 minute drive from the inn. Perhaps you want to catch the ferry over to Monhegan Island? In the evening, after a busy day exploring, you return to Newcastle Inn where you will find peace and tranquility as you plan for your next day's adventures.

Located in the Androscoggin River Valley and sitting on a hill overlooking the Androscoggin River is the Mt. Washington Bed and Breakfast. This 1800's farmhouses built by the Philbrook family is located at the entrance to the Mt. Washington Valley. Views abound, so relax in one of the rocking chairs on our porch and watch the sunset behind Mt. Washington, Mt. Madison & Mt. Adams. Our seven guestrooms are blended with a balance of antique and modern decor. Each room is uniquely named after various birds in the area and have wonderful views and private baths - two have whirlpool tubs! Included is a hearty hot breakfast each morning to delight your taste buds. Every morning Mary Ann prepares something different - what will breakfast be today? For daily activities you can choose to hike, bike, fish, swim, downhill ski, cross-country ski, snowshoe, go for a dogsled ride, ski Tuckerman's Ravine, hike Mt. Washington, visit Storyland/Six Gun City/Santa's Village, go shopping, antiquing, or just curl up on the sofa in the "Knowing Room" to read a book or sit on the porch and gaze at the Presidential's and bird watch.
