Opened in 1997 as a bed and breakfast lodging, it is the city's last vestige of the grand Hotel Era when wealthy folks came to Green Cove Springs for the "cure" provided from the warm water mineral spring. The spring, across the street from the inn, still provides 1300 gallons/minute of pure, chemical free, warm water that constantly refreshes the community swimming pool and then flows into the St. Johns River.
