Welcome to Brass Lantern Inn on the beautiful Island of Nantucket. An island known for its cobblestoned streets, cedar shingled houses, and miles of sandy beaches.
Coming from Angels, St. Catherine, Jamaica, the transition from one Island to another was easy for me. I first came to Nantucket in 2004, as a housekeeper on a H2B work visa program and over the years taken on the role as a Housekeeper, Front Desk Supervisor, and now as an Innkeeper. The Brass Lantern has been sponsoring my Green Card over the years and I am on the path to US Citizenship, and there is no place I would rather be than on the beautiful Island of Nantucket. I am in love with the serenity, rich history, the seasonal changes, and going by the Brant Point Lighthouse with my fishing rod, catching fish for dinner, while watching the boats go by is priceless.
The joys of being an Innkeeper is meeting new and interesting guests who come and stay with us and learning about new customs and culture. I get to love and enjoy the Island just like the visitors, and the commute to work isn’t so bad either! I look forward to welcoming you to Brass Lantern Inn.
Sincerely,
Sharon Bygrave, Innkeeper
