If you don’t have your own bike then a number of shops in town will get you set up with a top-quality bike. Trails will take you through two historic railroad tunnels, one of which is three-quarters of a mile long! Be sure to bring along your flashlight and jacket.

Take advantage of the year-round accessible 22-mile La Crosse River Trail and the 25-mile Great River Trail. Ride your bike to your heart’s content, never having to take the same trail twice.

In the evenings take a sunset stroll across Sparta’s community bridges including the Beaver Creek Covered Bridge.

Dining in Sparta can be upscale or casual. Within just a short distance of the bed and breakfast are over a dozen restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries for guests to enjoy. A Motorcycle and Bike Friendly Town and Bed & Breakfast

The inn has an indoor, covered storage area for either your bicycle or motorcycle. Shuttles are available to transport guests and their bikes to the nearby trails from the bed and breakfast! Between May 1 and October 31, during stays of two or more nights  Monday-Thursday, with the purchase of one bike pass guests will receive a second pass for FREE.

Things to do in Winter Near Sparta, Wisconsin

While Wisconsin isn’t necessarily known for its warm winter days, it is known for its great outdoor activities during all four seasons. Whether you’re interested in snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing or tubing, Franklin Victorian Bed & Breakfast is your perfect home base.  If downhill skiing is your interest, choose from Whitetail Ridge Ski Area or Mount La Crosse Ski Area.  Whitetail Ridge Ski Area is only 15 minutes from the inn and Mount La Crosse Ski Area is only 45 minutes from the inn.
