St Augustine Bed and Breakfast – Victorian House

Did you know that St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States? Take a fabulous trip back in time and discover the beautiful architecture, lively atmosphere, and pristine beaches of this inviting Florida city.

One of the most unique ways to enjoy St. Augustine is to stay at a traditional colonial-style bed and breakfast. Thankfully, we have just the place: The Victorian House, a St. Augustine favorite, was built in 1895 and perfectly nestled between the two oldest streets in America.

Guests at the Victorian House Bed and Breakfast can choose to stay at either the Main House or in the Carriage House. Each of the 12 rooms is lovingly decorated with homely touches and heirlooms, and feature either a jacuzzi tub, fireplace, or a private porch.

Besides the rooms, one of the biggest charms at the Victorian House are the innkeepers! Anthony and Marilyn know a thing or two about innkeeping: before becoming owners of the Victorian House, the couple traveled all around the world and stayed in bed and breakfasts during their trips. These “recon missions” allowed them to do some research and helped them build the foundation for a successful bed and breakfast when they came home. No wonder their B&B won TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for the past 4 years!

The best part about being innkeepers? “You get to meet such a variety of people. It truly is the coolest job you could ever imagine,” notes Anthony. In fact, guests can catch up with Anthony and Marilyn any time, and they’ll be happy to tell you more information about a particular tourist attraction or what’s happening that week.

For those looking for some fun in the sun, you’re in luck: St. Augustine is home to some of the best beaches in all of Florida. We recommend starting at St. Augustine Beach, where you can enjoy a bit of sunbathing, fishing from the shore, or shellin. There’s even windsurfing on the waves if you’re looking for a fun and adrenaline-filled adventure. Nature lovers will enjoy Crescent Beach, which has miles of unspoiled nature, while fishermen should visit Vilano Beach, one of the city’s best-kept secrets that features a pier.

A trip to St. Augustine guarantees that you’ll be basking among lush palm trees, grandiose fountains, and hints of glamorous old world charm. Start the day early and get acquainted with St. Augustine by strolling down St. George Street,  the city’s main pedestrian street that’s lined with quaint boutiques, ice cream parlours, specialty shops, cafes, and restaurants. Since St. Augustine is a city of superlatives, don’t miss the nation’s oldest wooden schoolhouse, which was built over 200 years ago and stands at the north end of the street. From there, transport yourself back to bygone years with a visit to the Old City Gates before heading over to the Castillo de San Marcos.

Charming St. Augustine is often described as a place unlike any other city in Florida, and we’re sure that you’ll agree. Throw away your worries and stress, and come stay at the Victorian House for the ultimate in a relaxing beach break.
