Chester Heights, PA:  Hamanassett Bed & Breakfast

Pet parents visiting the Brandywine Valley with their furry friends will find a great option here. The inn’s dog-friendly cottages come complete with fenced in yards and there’s also a room in the main where dogs are welcomed. On arrival, all guest dogs receive a welcome basket with a towel for wiping muddy or wet paws, a dog treat, and several waste bags for picking up the dog’s calling cards. Up to two dogs are allowed per room or cottage and there is no size or weight restrictions here. There is a $25/dog/night fee but come in August for the “Dog Days of August” special and all dog fees are waived.

Here, pups are welcome in any room at the inn. Some guest rooms even have private balconies for Bowser to enjoy a nap in the sun. The inn also provides a list of restaurants with outside seating that are equally enthusiastic about dog guests. During the wine hour for Mom and Dad, innkeepers will share maps and handouts showing dog-friendly beaches, trails and other welcoming places. Best of all, two legged guests may bring as many as four dogs. There is a one-time $25 dog charge for up to three nights.
