Protected by offshore reefs, the Pond provides safe swimming for children and those wishing to avoid heavy surf. The Hawaiians still fish in the Pond, on occasion, using the old "throw net" method and occasionally use torches at night to attract the "aweoweo"! ** Important Notice: the swimming pool and deck area will be closed for annual maintenance. Dates are Sept 9-16, 2024; Sept 14-21, 2025, and following years beginning a week after Labor Day. **
