I’m sure we can all agree that it has been quite the winter, but there is one upside to record breaking snow storms – they make spring flowers seem even more special. Every year to celebrate spring, Sainte Genevieve, MO, has their Annual Spring Garden Walk.
The event, which is sponsored by Ste. Genevieve Master Gardeners, Inc. and the University of Missouri Extension Office features:
- Tours of Private and Historic House Gardens
- Master Gardener Plant Sale
- Flower/Herb Plant Sale & Plant Doctor at Bolduc Museum
- Tea at the Felix Vallé House
- Boxwood and Lily Sale at the Guibourd House
- Garden Accessory Marketplace
- Garden Related Antiques
- Specials at Local Restaurants
- Horse Drawn Wagon Rides
In the past, some of our inns have even been featured on the tour. The Main Street Inn Bed and Breakfast is one of Ste. Genevieve’s premiere inns and their quarter acre herb and perennial garden will be on the tour again this year. Also right in the historic district, the Somewhere Inn Time Bed and Breakfast has a unique movie theme, with each of their rooms named after the characters or venues from that famous movie with a similar name. Just outside of Ste. Genevieve, but close to the many wineries that surround the town, is White Cliff Manor – built in 1879 on 20 acres of the Missouri bluffs along the Mississippi River.
The Garden Walk will be held May 14 and 15 this year. These are just a few of the Ste. Genevieve bed and breakfasts; there are many more historic and beautiful options available.
