Warm weather brings out the romantic in all of us.  Married couples can show their love again by planning a vow renewal ceremony at one of the many inns and B&Bs that specialize in hosting these joyous affairs. There are lovely parlors and gardens, flowing staircases, gorgeous gazebos, magnificent mountains and other stunning scenery that serve as wonderful backdrops for both memories and pictures. Also called remarriages and “do-over” weddings, there are as many reasons to renew your vows as there are places to choose from for saying your “I still do’s.”  Maybe a lack of funds for your first wedding was a reason for eloping, or your significant other hails from somewhere far away, and perhaps one side of the family couldn’t make it to the out-of-town affair.  So having a second ceremony at an inn with a minister or officiant presiding is an inclusive and affordable solution. Of course, vow renewals are still popular with happily married couples celebrating big digit anniversaries from 5 to 75 years and upwards.

Many inns and B&BS can arrange your ceremony, hire an officiant, and cater your reception on the premises. Vow renewal packages abound and there is a wide choice of amenities and services that innkeepers offer.  And, if you happen to be taking a getaway at a bed and breakfast, and the romantic atmosphere and warm summer nights make you fall in love all over again, you just might be lucky enough to have an innkeeper who is qualified to help you say “we do.”

The innkeeper of the White Oak Inn in Danville, Ohio, has seen an uptick in vow renewals this year. Located in the Amish area, the inn has a picturesque gazebo nestled in the pine groves that is ideal for vow renewals. The two-night intimate Vow Renewal Package includes the ceremony and officiant’s fee. A romantic dinner basket for two is delivered to your cozy cottage and wedding cake for two is provided after the service. A dozen roses will grace your cottage room, silk petals will be scattered across the bed, and Belgian truffles and candles close by.

Want to show him or her you’d do it all over again? Do it in grand style in the Green Mountains at the Governor’s House in Hyde Park, Vermont. The innkeeper here is a pro at making arrangements for vow renewals and if your friends come along, they get 10% off the regular room rates. The special re-do I-do package features two nights in a deluxe room with a fireplace, full breakfast each morning (in bed if you like), and the justice of the peace. Also included is a private candle-lit dinner for two, champagne, flowers, and a certificate of your vow

Don’t be shy about asking your favorite B&B innkeeper to help you plan a special ceremony personalized and meaningful to you or browse through Vow Renewal Packages on BnBFinder.com

Inside every grown man is a little boy who never outgrows his fascination with moving parts: trains, tractors, motors, propellers, gears and switches–the way things work never ceases to capture the imagination of male transportation aficionados. It begins with the first toy train set and continues through the first bike, car, and twin engine jet and so on. The attraction to mobility and speed, obsession with things that turn and spin, take off or go, is decidedly a guy thing.  Does this sound like your dad?

If it does, why not indulge the kid in him with a Father’s Day getaway package that entertains the child and invigorates the grown-up with a transportation-centric bed and breakfast stay.

The Wheel Deal – Vintage John Deeres will be the attraction at the National Antique Tractor Show at the fairgrounds in Bucyrus, Ohio, June 18-19. Even if dad never manned a back hoe, this is some event. His special day is the centerpiece of this weekend at the HideAway Country Inn, however. The innkeepers have crafted a Father’s Day Dinner, Kentucky Bourbon and Cigar Tasting Package that includes a barbecue banquet of steaks and chicken, sides and salad are served on the patio at this mansion that sprawls across six acres of gardens. After dinner, the gentlemen (ladies are welcome, too) are treated to a tasting of the finest Kentucky Bourbons on the market. Local cigar purveyor, Suzy Soprano, stops by with a wide variety of smokes from her nationally renowned Smoke Shop in Mansfield, so dads can sample and buy. This other wheel deal happening is the parade of Daytona Prototypes and GT cars of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series.

No Hobos Here – Treat Dad to a nostalgic ride through the White Mountains of New Hampshire on the beautifully restored Conway Scenic Railway. Built in 1898 for use on the Pennsylvania Limited, the “Gertrude Emma” train has been restored to its original splendor with individual wicker chairs, large double-wide windows, rich mahogany woodwork, its own snack bar, and open observation platform. Two tickets to ride on this historic railway are included in the Father’s Day Package created by the Buttonwood Inn on Mount Surprise, New Hampshire. The inn is surrounded by forests and award-winning perennial gardens, and has a heated swimming pool and hot tub. Also included is dinner for two at a fine, local restaurant, gourmet breakfast each morning, and afternoon tea service and the innkeepers tasty home-baked treats.

Golf lovers–spectators and players alike–will be hard pressed to keep their noses to the grindstones the week of June 14 – 20. That’s when the 110th US Open Golf Tournament takes place at gorgeous Pebble Beach.  While top-ranked players compete for a portion of the $7 million prize fund, a far cry from the circa 1895 prize cache of $335, weekend golfers across North America can claim their own prize by taking a golf getaway at a bed and breakfast that offers concierge tee-off services at partner courses.  Tantalizing breakfasts, free WiFi, cable TV, complimentary wine and cheese, and pampering by your hosts, is often less than that 110 year-old purse!

While the USGA puts golf pros to rigorous tests in shot making and mental tenacity, guests at the Market Street Inn in Taylorsville, Illinois, can relax and enjoy a scenic round of leisurely golf at the Lakeshore Country Club, arranged by the innkeeper. The golf course is 18 holes  and a 72 par, and overlooks beautiful Lake Taylorville. Brag about your almost-hole-in-one during the Inn’s social hour while savoring wine and cheese, complements of the host.  Soothe golf-weary shoulders with a soak in the in-room double whirlpool bath, and turn on the cable TV for replays of the best shots of the day at Pebble Beach.  After golf, bike along the 15-mile Lincoln Prairie Trail, built on an old railroad bed, and now a paved bike path lined with flowers and foliage, that takes you to the shores of Taylorville Lake, an ideal spot for a picnic.

The legendary golf course architects, Donald Ross and Robert White, designed the undulating 27-hole Buck Hills Golf Club to afford golfers an unparalleled view of the towering ridgelines visible in the majestic Pocono Mountains. Guests of the nearby French Manor enjoy discounted golf rates when they add the Golf Package to their stay at this secluded and spacious inn.  Built in the 1930s by a mining magnate, this enchanting stone chateau sits atop Huckleberry Mountain in South Sterling. Feel like lord of the fairway and the manor for a weekend; dine beneath a soaring 40 foot vaulted ceiling, behold two massive fireplaces. Amenities include complimentary fruit and cheese plate on arrival, decanter of sherry, Godiva chocolates, plush robes, WiFi, and cable TV. The Golf Package add-on includes greens fees and cart. Your concierge will also be happy to schedule additional tee off times at other courses in the area.

It’s been four decades since millions of TV viewers watched best friends Rhoda and Mary, of the Mary Tyler Moore Show, head south of the border for a vacation in Mexico. Currently millions of women are heading to the local multiplex to see Sex and the City 2, and live vicariously for two hours while Carrie, Samantha et al escape to Abu Dhabi for a whirlwind vacation full of adventure and sisterhood.

It’s no secret women of all ages welcome the chance to take a break from work, families, and husbands, and spend time away with each other. Recreating the pajama party atmosphere of adolescence and the insular sisterhood of sorority houses revitalizes the soul and strengthens friendships.

But you don’t have to go all the way to the Arabian Peninsula to have a nurturing gal pal experience.  There are hundreds of inns and bed and breakfasts right here in North America offering a wide range of venues  and packages conducive to relaxing and catching up with friends. Innkeepers have the latitude and creativity to conjure up activities and services that women find appealing including spa stays, wine tasting tours, oceanfront yoga, shopping, cooking clinics, murder mystery nights, and more. Delicious multi-course breakfasts, inviting living rooms, solariums, and free beverages, snacks, and DVD libraries all add value and fun to gal pow-wows.

With Best Friend’s Day on June 8, and National Friendship Month observed all of August, why live vicariously through Carrie and Samantha? Consider rounding up some friends of your own and imbibing in little luxury and pampering at any of the hundreds of bed and breakfasts and inns listed on BnBFinder.com

A picture of you gals and a moose will grace your night table or desk when you return from the YaYa Getaway offered by The Lodge at Moosehead Lake, in Greenville, Maine. That’s because a moose safari with photo is part of the adventurous 2 night package. Additionally, a half-day fishing contest with prizes, a bottle of wine, and two course delicious breakfast awaits you as well as outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the lake. A prefect setting to catch up with the girls. Add on a picnic lunch or book a massage. You deserve it!

The regal and historic Munro House Bed and Breakfast, in Jonesville, Michigan, was built in 1834, and may seem an unlikely setting for no holds barred, girl’s getaway adventure, but don’t let the stately facade fool you. This house has seen a lot of action in its day; a stop on the Underground Railroad, there was secret room for hiding runaway slaves. Later, under different owners, it was home to a large collection of antique pipe organs. The current owners were on their way to Rome when they decided to buy Munro House, and they offer European-styled amenities including a full range of spa services. The Chick Trip Ladies Weekend retreat includes four spa services, massage, two dinners at local favorite eateries, and two country-style breakfasts.
