Preserve-Inn – There’s no such thing as a stressful jam-packed getaway, especially if it really does involve jam!  At Blue Lake Ranch in Hesperus, Colorado, guests are treated to fresh jam and honey to sweeten their toast, waffles and pancakes.  Unique flavors range from lavender jelly, blackberry rhubarb preserve, peach & raspberry jam and vanilla bean honey.  Jam lovers can savor jam even past the breakfast hour by purchasing their own jam at the inn’s Trading Post.  The specialty gift shop sells individual jams or gift baskets as well as heirloom flower seeds.  Ask the innkeeper to arrange a day trip to Honeyville factory where the jams and honey are locally made.  Visitors can sample various honey, jams, jellies and sauces as well watch the bottling process.

You can also jam your way to Big Mill Bed & Breakfast in Williamston, North Carolina and taste homemade jam made right at the inn.  Chloe, the innkeeper is an expert jam maker and takes the time to not only pick her own fruit and grow her own blueberries, but she also bakes her own sweet bread (banana, squash and cranberry orange) and serves homemade yogurt & granola.  Depending on the season, guests can taste jam flavors ranging from strawberry, fig, blueberry and pear.  Interested guests who want to learn how to make their own jam can assist Chloe with the jam making process and receive a small jar of jam at the end of the session.

Get jammin’ and find more sweet inns at a Colorado Bed & Breakfast or at a North Carolina Bed & Breakfast.  You can also find more jam-tastic inns by using the advanced search box.

  1. thanks! and I am thrilled that many of the things we do on the farm, like canning and making preserves, are still around. We need to preserve tradition. We do that here at Big Mill B&B
