Jingle B&Bells - Unfortunately, sometimes holiday celebrations can be as exciting as fruit bread.  The good news is that it’s never too late to add a little extra jingle back to your holiday plans.  Mary White, Founder and CEO of BnBFinder.com discussed the season’s best bets on Martha Stewart Radio today at 1 pm (EST) on Sirius 112.  Here are some of Mary’s recommendations that she shared with host Mario Bosquez on “Living Today.” 

Santa’s not the only one spreading holiday cheer.  Two inns are giving back this season with complimentary stays.  Forty Putney Road Bed and Breakfast in Brattleboro, Vermont is offering a “Healthy Getaway Giveaway,” for any uninsured couple without health coverage.  The 2 night getaway includes all of the inn’s regular amenities, guided outdoor activities ranging from hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, etc. and a gourmet, healthy breakfast.  The inn promises to award an uninsured couple every month until the National Health Care Reform Bill is passed.

Follow your nose to Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast in Asheville, North Carolina to view professional gingerbread houses.  This inn along with four other participating inns will open their doors for the “Legendary Gingerbread Tour.”  Each inn will show gingerbread houses that depict scenes from the poem, “ ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”  Guests and visitors can board a trolley and visit each inn while enjoying holiday music.  Innkeepers will also be dressed in costumes and guests can learn how to decorate holiday cookies or make gingerbread centerpieces.  This event will occur every Saturday until January 2, 2010.

Make it a winter wonderland and get set for a dog sledding adventure at Three Bears at the Fountain B&B in Stowe, Vermont.  Guests have an option of a basic one hour ride with a guide or they can select a two person interactive guided tour for two hours.  Guests will be able to hitch and harness dogs with the guide.  Another traditional winter option that the inn offers is a horse drawn sleigh ride for two along with a three-course meal at a nearby restaurant.

Select your own Christmas tree at Martha’s Vineyard in South Haven, Michigan.  The inn offers a “Christmas Getaway” special that includes a 2 night stay and a visit to Tall Timbers Tree Farm where guests can find their perfect Christmas tree or wreath for the holidays.  The special also includes a stocking full of discounts to local stores and inn will also create a festive holiday atmosphere with a viewing of holiday movie classics and freshly baked cookies.

Winter lovebirds can warm up their nights at Kingsley House Bed and Breakfast Inn in Fennville, Michigan.  The inn offers the “Christmas Holiday Spirit Package,” which includes a 2 night stay, a Christmas Eve candlelight wine, cheese and appetizer buffet, a romantic horse drawn sleigh ride through Allegan forest and homestyle holiday dinner on Christmas day.  Guests can also take a home a free hand-painted 3D Christmas ornament of the inn with any online holiday gift certificate purchase of $100 or more.  This special is valid from December 24 - 26, 2009. 

Speed up the holidays at the Apple Orchard Inn in Durango, Colorado where guests can sign up for the “Winter Train Getaway Package.”  The special includes two tickets aboard the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Train.  The train ride will allow riders to experience the magic of “The Polar Express” as it zips through the San Juan National Forest.  Guests can sip hot chocolate, listen to Christmas carols and receive a holiday treat.

Blend the best of both seasons at Rendezvous Bed & Breakfast in Palm Springs, California.  Guests can swim in the morning at the inn and then cross country ski in the afternoon.  The hip 1950’s themed inn offers discount tickets to Palm Springs Aerial Tramway (the largest rotating tramcars in North America).  If holiday shopping is on your mind, ask the innkeeper about the “Shop ‘Till you Drop” package that offers discount coupons and gift cards to Desert Hills Premium Outlets.

Open House - Get inn the holiday spirit and step inside some of the most dazzling B&Bs with the 25^th Annual Christmas at the Inns Tour.  The tour runs from December 1-2 from 6 to 9 pm.  Visitors and guests will be able to tour 10 different inns in the Pacific Grove area and admire beautifully decorated inns decked out in holiday lighting and ornate Christmas trees.  Returning guests who stay at Jabberwock Bed and Breakfast in Monterey, California will be treated to complimentary tickets to the tour.  The inn will also serve individual snack bags for visitors and guests, as well as provide live holiday harp music.  Proceeds from this event will benefit the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce as well as the Heritage Society of Pacific Grove. 

Looking for a holiday experience that’s the best of both worlds?  Mix a bit of beach and ice and check into Cardiff-by-the-Sea Lodge in Cardiff by the Sea, California.  The inn is located 25 minutes away from the Hotel del Coronado, which offers an outdoor skating by the sea.  Visitors can step off on the sand for a little beach action or get in the holiday fun and ice skate along to holiday music.  The rink will be available for use until January 3, 2010.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego.  Return to the inn and watch the sunset around an open pit fire on the rooftop and wake up to breakfast on an ocean-view terrace.
