Santa’s not the only one spreading holiday cheer. Two inns are giving back this season with complimentary stays. Follow your nose to Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast in Asheville, North Carolina to view professional gingerbread houses. This inn along with four other participating inns will open their doors for the “Legendary Gingerbread Tour.” Each inn will show gingerbread houses that depict scenes from the poem, “ ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Guests and visitors can board a trolley and visit each inn while enjoying holiday music. Innkeepers will also be dressed in costumes and guests can learn how to decorate holiday cookies or make gingerbread centerpieces. This event will occur every Saturday until January 2, 2010.
Make it a winter wonderland and get set for a dog sledding adventure at Three Bears at the Fountain B&B in Stowe, Vermont. Guests have an option of a basic one hour ride with a guide or they can select a two person interactive guided tour for two hours. Guests will be able to hitch and harness dogs with the guide. Another traditional winter option that the inn offers is a horse drawn sleigh ride for two along with a three-course meal at a nearby restaurant.
Select your own Christmas tree at Martha’s Vineyard in South Haven, Michigan. Blend the best of both seasons at Rendezvous Bed & Breakfast in Palm Springs, California. Guests can swim in the morning at the inn and then cross country ski in the afternoon.
