We have always considered Veteran's day special here in East Marion on the North Fork of Long Island Wine Country. You see in east Marion we have the tiniest War Memorial/Post Office in the country. I will never forget more than 10 years ago, when at 7 AM sharp we heard gunfire. We jumped and thought that we had moved to the country to avoid hearing gunfire only to look outside to to see the veterans in their uniforms doing a 21 one gun salute. We now warn our guests about the gunfire and anyone who wants to see the most amazing and solemn group of veterans play Taps and deliver the salute. It is quite moving.
