Bed & Breakfast news for Innkeepers and B&B travelers
Wednesday, July 5, 2006

Today, there is no such thing as a “traditional” wedding. From Alaska to Maine and Florida to Arizona, bed and breakfasts are being host to weddings everyday.

Contrary to popular belief, bed and breakfast weddings are not only for small groups. The Newagen Seaside Inn (Newagen, ME), with its unique and spectacular location on the seaward tip of Southport Island, can accommodate weddings for up to 225 guests. If you desire a formal sit down dinner or a casual lobster bake, this waterfront inn can accommodate any style and preference

Whether it’s a private wedding for two or an intimate wedding with close family and friends that you’re looking for, the Alaskan Sourdough B&B (Cooper Landing, AK) is the perfect place to begin married life. Nestled on the Kenai Peninsula in Southern Alaska, the inn has its very own private chapel, and Innkeeper Rev. Willie Johnson is also an ordained minister. The country inn, which is famous for its sourdough pancakes, has everything one could want for a romantic and intimate wedding ceremony.

The Victorian setting and elegant amenities found at The Saltaire (Outer Banks, NC) make it a special place to relax before and after your wedding ceremony and begin your honeymoon and life together. This unique home is located just minutes from the beach and the gardens and pool area is the perfect site for an elegant wedding and/or tented reception for up to 60 guests. Weekly rentals make it ideal for a weekend wedding and include a personal chef and daily maid service and for the bride and groom and their guests.

Casa Sedona (Sedona, AZ) takes assisting with planning the wedding ceremony and reception one step further by having an onsite wedding planner for their guests. The bed and breakfast, which boasts beautiful views of Thunder Mountain, one of Sedona’s most magnificent red rock formations, can host weddings for up to 40 people and will custom design activities and outings for the bride and groom and their guests for a truly enjoyable experience.

So, whether your ideal wedding is on the beach with five of your closest family and friends, in the mountains with 200 guests, or a private ceremony with just your significant other, a bed and breakfast can make all your wedding dreams come true.

  1. That’s an awesome idea, having a wedding at a B&B. I recently attended a wedding in an old mansion. The entire weddding party and some close guests stayed the night – very lovely.
