How many times do we tell our kids it’s time for an attitude adjustment? After the frenzied pace of the school year and camp preparations, parents now have time for their own attitude adjustment. This week, every year, parents across the country feel guilty, suffer from separation anxiety and wonder how their kids will make it through 7-8 weeks of sleep away camp when in fact the kids will do just fine. Now, with the kids off enjoying camp, parents have time to do all the things they can’t do with the kids around such as plan a spontaneous getaway. Our new Spontaneous Savings section on BnBFinder.com as well as the regular Bed & Breakfast Specials section offers a wide variety of savings and packages. Here parents can find special savings to entice them into their own attitude adjustment with savings across the country.

The hurried pace of end of school projects, performances, assignments and tests is behind you; camp clothing has all been bought and labeled, the camp trunks are packed and there is time before you have to be home for the first eagerly, awaited, rigidly scheduled phone call from you child. There is time for you to enjoy a quick getaway! Wake up someplace special and feel your attitude adjust because of the special touches B&Bs offer and because you’ve taken the time to reconnect with your partner. We all know when parents are happy, it’s good for the kids so…

Do it for yourself and for the kids…

Bed & Breakfasts For Sale

How many ways you can you buy a bed & breakfast? While the terms auction and eBay may have conjured up images of desperate or fire sale in years past, this is no longer the case when looking for a bed & breakfast. There are thousands of beautiful inns and potential bed & breakfast properties for sale across the country and serious, informed buyers should also consider those being offered by auction and even those offered on eBay.

I’ve just completed the listing for the Col. Ebenezer Craft Inn a historic 1786 Colonial and finished Carriage house on 4+ acres with an option on 47+ contiguous acres on http://www.bedandbreakfastforsale.info/. This desirable Sturbridge, MA property is offered for sale with an unusual twist…it’s being sold at auction on Saturday, June 25th. The inn has fireplaces, a swimming pool, and meeting rooms. It offers everything for a successful inn including location so I called the listing broker to find out why it’s being sold at auction. He explained the immediate results are a benefit to both the buyer and the seller. The urgency brings out interested buyers, which are a benefit to the seller, and the instant results enable buyers to find and quickly purchase their desired property. No time is wasted in haggling; the results are determined by the market and perceived value.

Interested buyers can view the property on Saturday, June 18th and then bid at the auction and know the results on Saturday, June 25, so it doesn’t seem that much different than touring a property and making an offer - the benefit is the buyer knows immediately if their offer is accepted with the opportunity to bid more and instantly own it.

No matter how exciting an auction is I hope for the sake of the industry buyers keep in mind that they are not just buying a property but buying a business. Before researching property values and available inns for sale, aspiring innkeepers need to educate themselves. Too often at BnBFinder.com we receive calls from prospective innkeepers who tell us ‘they’ve been cutting out recipes for 5 years and are now ready to open an inn’…No matter how beautiful the property or how great the price is an inn without a knowledgeable innkeeper will be on the market again quickly.

The Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone is OPEN despite a series of huge landslides that have blocked Beartooth Highway. Visitors can travel to and from the park’s Northeast entrance via the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway, popularly known as Sunlight Basin Road. This route adds no extra time to your trip and is equally as scenic as Beartooth Highway. Easily accessible from Red Lodge via MT 308, the Chief Joseph Highway offers panoramic vistas of the Beartooths to the north and the volcanic Absaroka Range to the south. Wildlife, including elk, mule deer and mountain goats, roam the area. Sheer cliffs towering 1,200 feet line a deep gorge carved by the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River.

If you’re wondering were to stay when visiting Yellowstone National Park, consider the Inn on the Beartooth in Red Lodge, MT. At an elevation of 5,800 feet, the Inn on the Beartooth offers an excellent retreat from the bustle of everyday life. Here you’ll find rustic charm with all the modern conveniences. Each room is tastefully decorated with hand-crafted lodgepole pine furniture, cozy comforters and private baths.
