Bed & Breakfast lodging near Snowshoe Ski Resort, Cass Scenic
Railroad, the Greenbrier River Trail and the National Radio Astronomy
Observatory. We are Larry and Paula, into our 5th year of serving
guests in their travel plans to our little corner of paradise in wild
wonderful West Virginia. See the Things To Do page, give us a call @
304-456-4280 or email us and we will be glad to help.
While you are with us, ride the Cass RR logging train to the top of the mountain, visit the National Radio Telescope where they listen to outer space, bring your skis for a day at Snowshoe, bring your golf clubs for a round at the Raven, ride your motorcycle and join one of the bike tours, hike or bike along the 78 mile long Greenbrier River Trail, or bring your fly rod and I'll show you some great trout fishing on one of the eight rivers that originate in Pocahontas County, or you can just relax by the fireplace in our Common Room, on one of 3 porches and at night sit beside our firepit and see some of the brightest stars you've seen in a long time!
In the morning, wake up to muffins baking, coffee/tea brewing and a full breakfast. You can also see the sunrise down the valley on the distant Allegheny mountain range, but you've got to get up early!

My wife and I stayed at Chestnut Ridge Country Inn while visiting the Cass Mountain Railroad. The hosts were very nice and made you feel right at home. The breakfasts we were served both mornings were fantastic. The rooms were very comfortable. This was our first stay at a B&B and were were very pleased. Information given to us by Larry regarding the attractions nearby was very helpful. Larry and Paula made our stay very enjoyable.

After a long bike ride on the Greenbrier River Trail Larry welcomed us to Inn and showed us to
our large room furnished in antiques with a very comfortable mattress. The next day Paula's freshly prepared breakfast
and excellent coffee got us off to a great start of another day exploring Pocahontas County. Larry and Paula have
done a wonderful job restoring the property, there are beautiful views in every direction, and every
amenity is provided. This was an excellent choice, a well run Inn in a great location. We will return.

I really enjoyed my stay with Larry and Paula. I felt completely welcome as a solo traveler, and the personal touches at the inn made my stay so much more valuable than it would have been at a hotel. The room was nicely appointed and comfortable, and I appreciated the luxury bath items provided for me--particularly the After-Sun balm with coffee butter. I'm in a bit of a panic about what I'll do when I've run out! One of nicest things Paula did for me was to cut up a tomato I'd bought at a farmer's market, and put it in a container for me to enjoy during one of my days out. She even gave me salt and pepper to season it. Touches like that make a stay at Chestnut Ridge even better than home. I do hope to return, because I barely scratched the surface of what the area has to offer.

Beautiful house, great views, delicious food, very friendly hosts. Our 6 year old enjoyed running around the lawn and rolling in the grass. Can't wait to visit again!

Chestnut Ridge Country Inn was a delightful place to stay. The bedrooms were large, pretty and comfortable and the food was excellent. It was only 10 minutes away from the National Radio Astronomy Telescope and its scinece center and tour. The combination of the amazing telescope and the excellent B&B made it a great getaway only 4 hrs. from Washington DC.
