Larry and Paula are new innkeepers, opening Chestnut Ridge Bed & Breakfast June 2007, pursuing our dream of owning a Bed and Breakfast in Dunmore, WV. We look forward to meeting new people and seeing our returning guests. Enjoy West Virginia hospitality with a quiet getaway in our corner of the Monongahela National Forest in this restored 1890 farmhouse on three acres of open grass, surrounded by lush farmland.

While you are with us, ride the steam engine Cass RR to the top of the mountain, visit the National Radio Telescope where they listen to outer space, bring your skis for a day at Snowshoe, bring your golf clubs for a round at the Raven, ride your motorcycle and join one of the bike tours, plan a day on horseback thru the many ridges and meadows, hike or bike along the 78 mile long Greenbrier Trail, and bring your fly rod and I'll show you some great trout fishing on one of the eight rivers that originate in Pocahontas County.

When you call to make a guestroom reservation, tell us what you want to do and we will have the information available when you arrive. Also, you can just relax by the fireplace or sit outside beside our campfire and roast some marshmallows! Remember to leave your cell phone at home - they don’t work here, but you won't need them anyway. Dinner can be served at several local cuisines, at Elk River for upscale dining, or eat with us at the Inn. In the morning, wake up to muffins baking, coffee/tea brewing and a full breakfast. You can also see the sunrise down the valley on the distant Allegheny mountain range, but you've got to get up early!

Check In Policy:

Cancellation Policy:
In the case where the reservation must be cancelled, eight days notice is required for deposit to be returned in full. Cancellations within the seven days, the deposit will be returned in full if the guest room you have reserved can be reserved for someone else. If we cannot fill the reservation, a gift certificate will be provided.

The 2-guestroom suite is well suited to families, with 2 rooms and a private bath. Children are welcome but are expected to honor other guests privacy and be respectful of others.
