9 Cranes Inn welcomes vacationers, business travelers, and visiting family and friends to Phinney Ridge, a north Seattle neighborhood within walking distance to the city's places of interest. We're two blocks from the Woodland Park Zoo, in a quiet neighborhood near restaurants, shops, and nature. Very close by are the neighborhoods of Ballard, Greenwood, Fremont, Wallingford, and Green Lake.

We offer accommodations Seattle-style: historic, eclectic, and a little fun. Our Craftsman home was built in 1916; it boasts rich wood features and an inviting fireplace. Our guest rooms, spanning three floors of the house, offer modern amenities such as free wireless Internet access, flat-screen TVs, comfortable beds, and quality bath products. In addition to the main living room, guests may enjoy a second-floor lounge containing a computer, refrigerator with complimentary soft drinks, and lending library.

All rooms have private baths and their own distinct personalities. The top-floor Ballard View room is its own private retreat, with rooftop deck facing the Olympic Mountains, giant jetted tub, and king-sized bed. The Phinney Ridge room on the second floor has a queen bed in the bedroom and an optional pull-out twin in the private sitting area. The second-floor Fremont room is stylish and spacious, with queen bed and black/white/red theme. Woodland Park on the first floor is our value room - with its queen-sized bed it contains everything you need without climbing the stairs!

As innkeepers, we want you to enjoy your Seattle stay as YOU want to enjoy it. We're happy to make recommendations for dining and playing if you like, or we'll leave you to your own devices if that's your preference. Either way, 9 Cranes Inn would love to serve as your urban base camp during your visit to Seattle.

My wife and I spent a week in Seattle and the Olympic National Park recently. We stayed at 9 Cranes Inn for 4 nights while touring Seattle. When we arrived, I noticed the low-key appearance of the inn in a clean and quiet neighborhood. Shelley, the hostess, greeted us as soon as we knocked on the door and gave us a tour of the inn, which appeared to be fully equipped with open spaces, couches, Wi-Fi, refrigerator, and hot coffee and tea. The room, like the rest of the inn, was spotless. The breakfasts, prepared by Shelley every morning from scratch, were unique in their selection, taste, and appearance. My wife was exited to see the different varieties and combinations that we had each time. Shelley was also very knowledgeable and happy to explain to us how, and sometimes why, each dish was prepared. The other guests at the table were also fascinating with stories and experiences beyond our imagination. The inn is just a couple short blocks away from Phinney Ave N, which is packed with small eateries and stores. My wife and I walked from the inn to Green Lake one evening. It took us less than 15 minutes to reach Green Lake. The trail around Green Lake is perfect for walking in the evening and going around the lake took us about an hour. We saw many interesting people and things during that walk, including people boating on the lake and a pack of geese eating grass on a patch right next to the trail. Free parking spaces next to the inn on the street were always available and the surrounding appeared to be a nice residential area with sidewalks. Occasionally we ran into a lady walking with her dog. The area is covered with trees and flowers that reach the windows of the inn. The overall experience with 9 Cranes Inn was pleasant and fun and I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Seattle and will consider it for our next trip to Seattle.

I would highly recommend the 9 Cranes Inn for a short or an extended stay. The attention to detail both in the restoration and decoration of the Classic Craftsman style home. You feel the warmth when you step into the home. The neighborhood is quiet but centrally located to the restaurants in the unique townships. I have already booked my return visit.

My husband and I recently stayed at 9 Cranes Inn and absolutely fell in love with this Bed and Breakfast. From our first step inside the front door I knew this place was going to be wonderful. Our room was beautiful and the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Shelley and her staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was so yummy!

We had a wonderful stay at 9 Cranes Inn. We were visiting our daughters in the Seattle area. Shelley, the inn keeper had great communication with us regarding check-in and breakfast. Our breakfast was delicious and Shelley took time to chit chat with us about the neighborhood and the Inn. Our room had an alcove area with a pull-out single that worked great for us while one of our daughter's spent the night. The alcove had pocket doors providing privacy. The furnishings and en-suite were very high end while the B&B itself is a craftsman home tucked into the Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle. We had access to beverages and snacks 24/7 and common areas that were comfy and home-like. Location was great with easy access to downtown Seattle yet tucked into a beautiful residential neighborhood. We would stay there again and probably will soon.

A beautiful home with lots of wood, beautiful furniture, interesting photos and art, and a grand room at the top with a very comfortable King size bed, a large west facing deck, and spectacular views. Very nice large jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The owners were on a business trip, but the pinch hitters were regular substitutes and were a delight. The other guests were fascinating, making for wonderful breakfast conversations. You will enjoy your stay here.

Blind luck that I stumbled onto this B&B using BnBFinder.com. A good thing too! This is an exceptional property with a caring, knowledgable, attentive proprietor. Our room was eye candy. The location couldn't be more convenient. Breakfast portions were ample and the food was quite good. The coffee kept coming - a necessity for any Northwesterner. Although we only live 45 miles away, I'd make the trip again just to stay in this luxuriant B&B.

My mother, my daughter and I just returned home from a lovely vacation in Seattle where we discovered 9 Cranes Inn. We enjoyed this gem of a B&B for the first half of our adventure. We were treated to delicious gourmet breakfasts from Shelley's magic kitchen. The Inn is immaculate, the beds are beyond comfortable and the hospitality is warm and welcoming. I would recommend 9 Cranes Inn to anyone who is looking for a first-rate getaway. We had everything we needed and then some. Thanks, Shelley
