This 1889 roadhouse was the gathering place for all the gold miners, lumberjacks and mountain men who called the North Cascades their home! It was also the stopping off place for the mule trains that traveled over the North Cascade Pass!

The inside of the building has been completely remodeled in 2004, into the Buffalo Run Inn. It is now a FOUR STAR hotel with ten rooms downstairs and five budget rooms upstairs. The ten first floor rooms are air conditioned luxury rooms with Queen and King beds, flat screen satellite TV, kitchenettes, mini fridges, microwaves and in-room coffee. When you arrive, please register at the Buffalo Run Restaurant across the street. Each registered guest will receive a 10% discount on his or her restaurant bill, by presenting the room key!

You wouldn't think it was much better than a stereotypical mountain highway place, but the recent remodel of the interior and the delightful resturant are wonderful. There's no room service, but the rooms are clean, the towels large and the service excellent!

The photos online do not do justice to this Inn. The room was much nicer than it appeared on the website. The beds were very comfortable. Marshall, the owner, was very personable and friendly and we enjoyed dining on the patio at his Buffalo Run Restaurant across the street. I would definitely recommend this property to others.

Great place that's not part of some big chain. Well runn and "cozy" feeling.
