This San Juan Island lodging gem is just minutes from Friday Harbor, WA. The Highland Inn is nestled on a wooded hillside overlooking the Haro Straits where it joins the Straits of Juan de Fuca. San Juan Island is home to three resident pods of over 80 Orca whales. From April through October look out over the water from the expansive deck at the waters below the inn where you can see and hear the whales feeding and playing. Wild life abounds with bald eagles, owls and a myriad of other birds who find nests along our coastline.
In the morning a full gourmet breakfast is served in your suite, in the dining room or on the covered veranda overlooking the sea. Afternoon tea and Mrs. King's famous fresh baked cookies welcome you on arrival or when you return from an exciting day of exploring the island, or relaxing at the inn. The inn is open all year and offers two spacious guest suites that are individually decorated with your privacy and every comfort and pleasure in mind. Drink, shower or soak in our very pure glacial waters from the inn's private well which draws water from a depth of 700 feet...over 400 feet below sea level.
