We loved our stay at The Claiborne House Bed and Breakfast in Rocky Mount Virginia. We stayed at this BanB for two nights enroute to our relatives home for Easter. After a long day traveling we were greeted at the door with a welcoming smile. Shelly the innkeeper was the most gracious hostess and showed us in to the refreshments. Lemonade, coffee, tea and sodas and a home made cherry coffee cake she had made that afternoon JUST FOR US, and it was delicious. We stayed in The Cascade Room, which was comfortable, cozy and clean. It met all of our needs, and we were pleased to received $10 off by booking online. The website for the inn was very accurate, the rooms are even nicer than they appeared in the photos tho. I mentioned that to the hosts. Breakfast was excellent, coffee was excellent and the conversation was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Claiborne House B&B. The innkeepers were not intrusive. We did not have a curfew and they did not pester us at all. We came and went as we pleased and rang the bell on their quarters should we need anything. The layout of the B&B was great, they had their portion apart from the guest rooms, which gave us tons of privacy. Shelly gave us some information on some things to see and do in the area which we would not have found on our own. First on the list was the moonshine exhibit at The Blue Ridge Institute. No sampling. Bummer. We enjoyed it anyway. Second was the O Winston Link Museum in Roanoke and a BBQ and Blues restaurant. Very good. I highly recommend this beautiful home with its gracious hosts. Spring was just starting to bud and I can only imagine how it must be in this part of the country in a week or so. I will continue to tell my friends and family about The Claiborne House. It was just 15 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
