A full breakfast each morning includes a first course of seasonal fruit, warm baked goods, assorted fruit and vegetable juices, Stash teas and coffee, followed by a hot entree. Sweet and savory menus are alternated each day. Guest favorites include entrees such as Bacon and Egg Casserole, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with strawberries, or our Mexican Frittata.

The building itself is AMAZING. Wrap -around porches, wooden rockers and gliders, a bubbling stream and graceful landscaping. The house's orientation allows for natural sunlight and breeze to embrace the house at all hours.
The inside and outside encouraged guest conversation - large, long wooden tables and leather chairs forming social bubbles. A public-use mini-fridge, 24 hour complimentary drinks and snacks, and plenty of local historical books. Beautifully adorned and situated.
The room - Angel's Rest - was BEAUTIFUL. As you walk in, the warm tan/yellow walls create a luminous yet relaxing glow to the room. Very clean. The bathroom had a whirl-tub big enough for two people and it did not fail at melting the stress away; the amenities - LATHER brand - were "keepers" and we purchased a set before we left. Bedding - mattress, pillows, and all - was SO soft and had that fresh line-laundry smell. The His and Her robes were VERY comfy. Plenty of space in the closet, drawers, and desk. Too, plenty of room to move around and stretch about. The view was INCREDIBLE - The New River to the left, miles of mountain views straight ahead, and a green valley below. Breathless in every direction.
The hospitality was FANTASTIC. Janet made breakfast yummy to the taste (with food restrictions considered) and pleasing to the eye. Breakfast was simply delicious. Jim made dinner reservations at two highly-recommended restaurants - The Bank and Palisades - both which proved to be A+ places. During our daily outings, our room was fluffed and refreshed; this was a nice touch after a day of nosing around town.
5 STARS (plus more, if we could) for this place! Well done, Janet and Jim!

The Innkeepers (Jim and Janet) were very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The Inn is gorgeous with amazing views of the New River. The decor of the Inn was beautiful and the back upper and lower decks were fantastic (although we didn't get to enjoy them...being in December, you know). We stayed in the Palisades Room and the room was very well appointed with the typical great amenities of a Select Registry B&B Inn. Easy to tell the differences between a Select Registry Inn (such as this), and a non-Select Registry Inn. Would definitely go back, but in a better time of year.

I have traveled a lot, but the view from The Inn @ Riverbend is astounding. You just want to stand there and soak it in. The Inn itself is very attractive, well furnished, and the service and breakfast cannot be beat. The hiking options in the region are endless. The local scenery is a visual feast. If that is not enough, a few of the nearby restaurants have live music worth listening to. I stayed 4 nights and felt like I had been away from "the world" for much longer; truly the sign of an good vacation.

The Inn at Riverbend is a wonderful, romantic place. Sunrise brought mist across the valley with views of the river and a beautiful sunrise over the mountains. Couldn't ask for more in that department. Top that off with great outdoor activities in the New River Valley, great restaurants, tasty breakfasts and warm staff. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend away with my wife.

I loved my stay at the Inn at Riverbend and highly recommend it -- there is nothing I would change (except stay longer). When I woke up I felt like I was in the Web site -- the views were that spectacular. I stayed in the McKenzie Room (gorgeous) but was lucky enough to get a quick tour to see a few of the other rooms when they were not occupied and they were all immaculate and fabulous. The breakfast when I was there was French toast with stewed apples, fruit and sausage -- sounds heavy but it was light, yet filling and wholesome yet delicious. Every time I think of my stay I smile and occasionally I’ve gone back just to look at the Web site and the views as I “virtually vacation” until I can visit again!
