Echoes of the past resonate throughout this historic inn and the quaint town of Orange, Virginia. Built in the Federal architectural style, the Holladay House Bed and Breakfast (circa 1830) is a historic Main Street landmark. Walk to Taylor Park, art galleries, antique shops, gourmet shops and restaurants. Tour Virginia wineries, experience the gourmet pleasures of fine local restaurants, or re-live the past at the area’s plentiful historic sites.
Investigate the lives of President James Madison and Dolley Madison at James Madison’s Montpelier, and marvel at the architectural brilliance of Thomas Jefferson at Monticello and Barboursville. Ash Lawn-Highland, home of President James Monroe, is also nearby. Civil War battlefields and historic trails dot the nearby landscape.
There are numerous ways to see the Central Virginia landscape: scenic driving, fishing along a river, hiking up the Blue Ridge Mountains, hot air ballooning, riding in a biplane or skydiving! Savor fresh, homemade cookies on our screened side porch, or curl up in front of the nineteenth-century marble fireplace in our parlor. Awaken to a full breakfast and locally roasted coffee every morning! |

We never wanted to leave! What an amazing weekend. First and foremost, Sharon, the Innkeeper was absolutely incredible. She was helpful before our trip even began by mailing us passes to local wineries and museum tickets. The home itself was impeccable and beautiful, and then Sharon stunned us again with a delicious breakfast! She even offered us a free upgrade. We are looking forward to making this weekend getaway, an annual trip. Thanks Sharon!

Stayed at Holladay House multiple times and love it. The Innkeepers are very friendly and will do anything they can for you. While the Inn has been modernized, it still has the feel of an old house on Main Street in a small town. Great side porch with rocking chairs. Several restaurants nearby including a great lunch spot called Real Food and a I nice little wine shop too. Holladay House is just whatyou think of when you picture an Inn on Main Street U.S.A. Great for a weekend getaway or for longer if you want to explore the area. Can’t go wrong at Holladay House.

Sam and Darnell did a fantastic job - going above and beyond to make sure that we, their guests, were well taken care of - from providing a personal tour of the city to stocking our room with my husband's favorite drinks. Thanks for a lovely visit.

I couldn't have asked for a better stay. The relaxed environment was perfect, and every detail matters - from the comfortable room to the excellect and inspired breakfast and the selection of DVDs to borrow. I didn't want to leave!

Holladay house became a home away from home for us during our trip to Virginia. We loved everything about our stay. Our host and hostess were charming and knowledgeable, the food was great, and the room was cozy and comfortable. We plan on returning again next year.

The hostess & her husband (Sharon & Sam) went above and beyond my expectations as hosts. They were not only friendly and hospitable, but helpful and knowledgable on the area getting in & out. The house was beautiful!! There's a cozy touch of that old school class that invites you into every room. Everything is right in access to the B&B, and the town is warm and very friendly. My boyfriend & I could tell that they enjoyed out stay in their home as much as we enjoyed staying there. Awesome French Toast :-)

We had such a wonderful experience at the Holladay House Bed and Breakfast. We stayed for New Year's Eve and Sharon went up and beyond the call of duty by booking us reservations at the local fine dining restaurant. Breakfast was unbelievable and the hospitality cannot be rivaled elsewhere. Also, the history of the Bed and Breakfast makes it a truly memorable visit. We are looking forward to spending more nights at the Holladay House.

The innkeepers are just so friendly and nice, and the breakfast was just amazing! I've already recommended the Holladay House B&B to friends and family, and plan on going there again for sure.
