The Mayhurst Inn, located in beautiful Orange, Virginia invites you to relax in the grandeur of the past when Southern life was slower and more gracious.
This marvelously preserved and restored plantation home of 1859 can transport you to a time far away from today's stresses. Mayhurst is a magnificent and rare Italianate Victorian gem; remarkable for its fanciful exuberant architecture and oval-spiral staircase ascending four floors. It is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and is a Virginia Historic Landmark for its historic as well as architectural merit. You may wish to tour all four floors of the mansion complete with a climb to the rooftop cupola where General "Stonewall" Jackson observed his troops.
Our eight guest rooms have king and queen beds fitted with luxury linens and down pillows. The decor of each guest room is distinctively different and contain a wide variety of antiques. Godiva chocolates, bottled water, special soaps and shampoos and hand and body lotion are in every room.
Snacks, soft drinks, wine and cheese are served each evening from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Three course full breakfasts are served on the large patio or in the dining room next to the fireplace. Snacks are always available in the library and in each of the three parlors.
Mayhurst has 37 acres of landscaped grounds, multiple gardens, a large inviting patio, porches and a verandah, 2 miles of mowed walking paths, a comfortable hammock and a fishing pond. All invite you to forget the stress, forget work, and relax.
We have numerous Vacation and Romantic Packages, including: Adventure, Golf, Civil War, Winery Tours, Presidential Mansion Tours, and Romance Packages. You may also build your own package from our à la carte listing of extras including: fresh roses, in-room massages, champagne and strawberries and scrumptious picnic baskets among many others.
Mayhurst is located within easy driving distance from 6 Civil War Battlefields, 6 Wineries, 2 Museums, 3 Presidential Homes (Montpelier, Monticello and Ashlawn) and 4 Golf Courses. Recreational activities, such as horseback riding, skydiving. fishing, ballooning (from Mayhurst) and hiking opportunities abound. Orange County and the surrounding area are renowned for numerous Art Studios, Antique Malls and Gift Shops. We are located just 30 miles from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and Skyline Drive. Guests are encouraged to dine at the over 20 Restaurants in the immediate area.
Mayhurst is also a Wedding and Event Site destination and has hosted over 50 wedding ceremonies and receptions ranging in size from 10 to 300. With its extensive grounds and 9200 sq. ft. Manor House Mayhurst can accommodate virtually any event.

Refunds, less a $20.00 processing and cancellation fee, will be made if notice of cancellation is received at least 10 days before the date of arrival. Otherwise, deposits are not refundable unless the room is rebooked.

Receipt of a deposit of one night's stay or half the total stay will hold a reservation. We accept personal and Travelers checks, MasterCard, American Express and Visa. When a credit card is used for a reservation it is processed the day the reservation is made. Checks should be received within 7 days of making a reservation.
