The Shenandoah Suite Named for the soft blues and greens of our own Shenandoah Valley, the Shenandoah Suite offers a sleigh bed, complemented by an Empire sofa, and a tapestry-upholstered lounge chair and ottoman that cozy up to the gas-log fireplace. Besides a twin bed and an upholstered chair, the second room also has an extra vanity sink. The private sun porch has windows that open wide for fresh breezes, and a mountain view - and a wicker rocker from which to enjoy it all.

Equestrian Suite Hunting prints on the walls and a huntboard beneath the mirror set the theme for the Equestrian Suite. An antique coverlet hangs beside the four-poster bed, while a recliner and oversized chair flank the gas-log fireplace. Shades of burgundy and green, and a reproduction Empire barrister bookcase lend classic grace. The second room has a fun mix of country pieces—an antique dresser, mirror, and a single brass bed covered with a patchwork quilt. The open porch is furnished with wicker rockers. The bath has a tub/shower combo.

The Sunshine Room The soft yellow walls and east and south-facing windows make the Sunshine Room bright and cheery. The sleigh bed and wing-back chairs rest on oriental-design carpets. Peeking out from various corners, a collection of ducks and geese adds light-hearted balance to the antique mantel and reproduction Chippendale highboy dresser. The electric wood stove adds a romantic glow and cozy warmth.

The Garden Room The Garden Room overlooks the garden and is decorated with a floral motif in fabrics and art. It is also our most Victorian guestroom with a variety of Victorian furnishings—including an heirloom settee (that once belonged to Jan's great-grandmother), a writing desk, period lamps, and an ornate faux-bamboo bed. Soft green walls complete the garden theme. In colder months, the electric wood stove beneath the mantle lends quaint charm and extra warmth.
