My husband and I have now stayed at the Stonewall Jackson Inn twice and we have had a fantastic experience each time! From the moment you walk in the door to check in, they really do treat you like old friends. This is the place to stay if you want to stay with friends but don't have any in the area. No cold, sterile, hotel vibe here, far from it. They make an effort to learn (and remember!) your name and check in with you whenever you pass through the foyer. They genuinely go out of their way to ensure that you get the most of out of your Harrisonburg area visit, offering great suggestions for activities and restaurants. The breakfast, as they say on their website, is indeed memorable and the outdoor seating is the perfect way to start your day. We'll definitely be back a third time!

The Stonewall Jackson is an incredible, scenic, and CHARMING place. This was our first time at a B&B and we were absolutely not disappointed. Every single staff member was personable and truly cared about making it an amazing experience. The food was to die for...(we love Anthony's breakfast potatoes and Aurelia's homemade cookies! She even caught me with my hand in the cookie jar once...literally.) There is so much to see and do in and around Harrisonburg and we were so delighted to have a beautiful "home away from home" to return to and wind down with the other guests. Dr. Engel is the sweetest and most accommodating man in the universe. Everything about our anniversary weekend was perfect and it was largely due to this Inn.

To say the owner and staff have left no stone unturned is an understatement. From the friendly welcome we received at arrival, help with our luggage, recommendations of area attractions and restaurants, to a fabulous breakfast in the morning, everything was perfect. Bob and Renee were so friendly and accommodating. We were so happy to meet Aurilia and Anthony before they left for a well deserved getaway and Wayne made sure all was perfect. We could not have planned a better 29th wedding anniversary getaway and would recommend the Stonewall Jackson Inn again and again. Southern hospitality at its best.

My daughter and I stayed at the Stonewall Jackson Bed and Breakfast and it was a wonderful place to stay. Located just off I-81 in Harrisonburg, VA nestled in the Shenandoah Valley with beautiful mountains. Bob and Renee and Anthony and Aurilla, made us feel at home the minute we stepped through the door. They could not have been more accommodating. The breakfast was superb. Restaurants and shops were close by but it was a very quiet location. For quilters there is a quilt museum nearby and the largest quilt shop in VA within 5 minutes. A Lavender farm just outside of town was a wonderful adventure. I hope to go back some day.

My wife and I had a wonderful break from the strife that life can some times throw at you and it came in the form of this B and B. We traveled from Charlotte, NC on our way to New York to be with family. My wife (the smarter one) found the Stonewall Jackson Inn as a good midway point so we stopped there for the night. With a great night sleep and a wonderful breakfast we continued on. After leaving New York for our trip back we again stopped for the night at the same Inn. We decided to spend an extra night just because we needed to "recharge" and again can't say enough about Wayne, Paul and the rest of the staff! If having a quiet gettaway, a peacful night sleep, and a wonderful breakfast is your thing, this is the place to be. Oh and if you can't sleep at night like me, they have the fireplace going all night.

My wife and I stayed here for our 1 yr wedding anniversary in October. It was our first time in a B&B but this place set the bar high! Wayne, Candy, and the rest of the gang were incredibly nice, welcoming, and helpful. They gave us some great recommendations on vineyards around the area, and if you didn’t want to do those, the proximity to downtown was a huge plus! The breakfasts were absolutely phenomenal, and the rooms (we stayed in the J.E.B. Stuart room) were comfy and had nice views of the yard and mountains. Overall, an awesome trip!

My husband and I went to the Stonewall Jackson Inn for a long weekend away to celebrate our anniversary. The Inn was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and friendly. We really enjoyed mornings on the back deck eating our breakfast. The sunrise was amazing to watch! The location of the Inn is perfect. We were able to enjoy the great restaurants in downtown Harrisonburg, as well as civil war battlefields, Cross Key winery and Grand Caverns all within 30 minutes. Since we were there near Halloween time, we also stopped in on several haunted activities, including a walking tour through downtown Harrisonburg to hear ghost stories about some of the old buildings. It was so much fun

The Stonewall Jackson surpassed every expectation I had for a bed & breakfast. My initial reservation was promptly followed by a personal welcome e-mail from Wayne, the owner himself. The extraordinary customer service began immediately. As we pulled up we were waved at by Johnny and Cassandra, who welcomed us, helped us with our bags, and checked us in. They both were extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. Johnny even helped my fiancé with printing some last minute documents he needed for his interview the next day. The inn itself is a nineteenth century historic home situated just a few blocks from downtown Harrisonburg, VA. It is impeccably clean and comfortable without seeming pretentious. And the people who work here are so warm and friendly you feel as if you are staying with family. I asked Candace and Paul, the innkeepers on staff that night, where the nearest drug store was because Jorden forgot his razor. When we walked back from dinner there was a disposable razor in our room. The second evening Paul knocked on our door to bring us strawberries and chocolates. In the evenings, we visited with Johnny and Cassandra, Candace and Paul, and another guest outside on the patio and enjoyed the warm weather and great company. And then there was breakfast prepared by the innkeepers, Paul and Candace. Amazing. Salmon eggs benedict with dill hollandaise sauce one morning and croissant French toast the next morning. No shortage of juice and tea and wonderful fruit, yogurt, and granola parfaits. Incredible. The owner, Wayne, visited with us as he poured my fiancé’s coffee and gave us hiking trail suggestions for the day. I told my fiancé. “I never want to stay in a hotel again. This was awesome.” The human element really made our stay. Cassandra, Johnny, Candace, Paul, and the owner, Wayne were all absolutely stellar; professional, attentive, friendly, and so nice. They all came out of the kitchen to see us off when we left and thanked us for coming. My fiancé and I will be talking about this amazing experience for years to come. We will definitely be back to the Stonewall Jackson. Stay at this bed & breakfast. You will not regret it.

What a wonderful place to getaway! The Stonewall Jackson Inn is a lovely, historic and restored mansion in Harrionburg Va. Packed with history and smack in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley. Our Innkeeper Wayne and his wonderful staff, Cassandra and Jonathon made us feel like family. A great dinner at a suggested restaurant and a scrumptious breakfast of Eggs Benedict a la Wayne on the Veranda.... Try it, you'll love it!

College drop-off for our daughter to JMU coincided with our 29th wedding anniversary so we decided to step it up a notch from the usual Holiday Inn Express. The Inn was a delight. We felt like close friends with the innkeeper from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the J.E.B. Stewart room and had the most comfortable bed ever. Each room has their own temperature control which is a plus. All of the standard hotel amenities were included (iron/ironing board, hair dryer, soaps and shampoos). The only thing that made me want to get out of bed were the smells wafting from the kitchen. Our breakfast was served on the beautiful outdoor deck. We cannot think of one thing that could have been changed to make our visit any better. Thank you Wayne, Johnny, Kass and Jonathan.
