The Firmnstone Manor is beautiful and historic Bed and Breakfast Country Inn just outside Clifton Forge and Lexington, Virginia. It's surrounded by National Forest and Mountains and considered a nature lovers dream. Driving up the arched drive lined with flowering plum trees offers you a view of a dusty-rose mansion and the Allegheny Mountains. A myriad of flowers and exotic shrubbery enhance the charm of this 1873 Victorian inn set near the southern tip of Virginia's beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley.

A magnificent entrance hall, takes you back in time to when Ulysses S. Grant was president. You can explore the rooms, each superbly restored and decorated with many original items from the Firmstone-Johnson mansion, owners and iron masters of the Longdale Iron Works. Architectural details abound, and floor-to-ceiling windows bring in mountain breezes and soothing sounds of the surrounding Allegheny Mountains.

We look forward to your visit!

We had a lovely room with a connecting bathroom, very much what you would expect from an old mansion. Breakfast was great and different every day. You can be as independent or as much a part of the Firmstone manor as you want to be. The proprietors are very flexible about when breakfast will be ready and what you may want to eat. They will provide other meals on request.

Wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful setting. Decorated great with host more than courteous and very welcoming. Restoration of this painted lady will bring applause from all who drive by and especially by those who have the luck to stay the night. Barbara, way to go, with the restoration. Beautiful just beautiful. Will stay again...

We stayed there for the first time last year while we had a family reunion at a nearby State Park and it was great! The Innkeeper was so nice and helpful and treated us like family! The breakfast the next morning was so good and such an array of variety that anyone would enjoy it!

Everything about the stay was exceptional. If you're visiting the area, don't waste your money on a hotel. Firmstone is a great bargain, cheap at twice the price.

We stayed here for the first time last year. We were delighted at the comfortable atmousphere and hospitality. The rooms were very nice...and the breakfast was delicious. The surroundings were awesome. We are returning for our second stay in June. We were very pleased. Earnest & Dayna Stuart
