This is a wonderfully charming urban B&B. The innkeeper was most gracious and welcoming. We mostly relaxed in the well-appointed room. We visited the nearby pedestrian shopping mall, which is a major plus for The Inn at 400 West High. A minor issue (out of the hands of the Innkeeper, IMO), was the traffic noise we heard at night - a tradeoff for its urban setting.

My husband and I have stayed at this inn two times so far. It is a special inn that exudes charm in every nook and cranny. The rooms are beautiful, and breakfasts delicious! Carolyn, the owner, is warm and welcoming!! The inn is located within walking distance to the downtown mall and all the great shops and restaurants. Couldn't be better!!

We had our first stay at this lovely B and B.
It is probably the most charming we have ever stayed.
Carolyn, proprietor, was a very gracious host.

This is one of the most charming BnB's we have ever visited, and definitely is a place that we will return to often. The proprietor is amazing, charming and delightful in every way. The location is perfect for exploring downtown Charlottesville, being only a short walk to the downtown city-center mall.

The Inn at 400 West High could not have been more perfect! I stayed two nights in the Ridge Apartment for my wedding weekend and it was everything I could have hoped for. The apartment has a full kitchen, and lots of space, which came in handy. Breakfast both days was phenomenal. The Inn is decorated beautifully and was one of the best "home away from home" experiences I've had. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone looking to get away for some R&R!

We stayed in the Preston Suite at The Inn at 400 West High while visiting my daughter at UVA.The suite was comfortable and spacious. The Inn is conveniently located within a short walk of the Downtown Mall and many lovely restaurants. The hospitality provided by Carolyn, the innkeeper, was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble for her. Her breakfasts were delicious and the complimentary coffee and cookies much appreciated.

We recently had our elopement wedding in the garden and I am totally thrilled! This inn is PERFECT and the innkeeper is delightful! It is a mix between Martha Stewart Living and Southern Living Magazine---- I would not have changed a thing! Thank you Carolyn for making my wedding day everything I could have wished for----dream until your dreams come true!

Last minute choice and it was perfect. The place is beautiful and location is great. Carolyn has put a lot of thought into making her guest feel comfortable and welcome. This is our second stay at a B&B so needless to say we were a little apprehensive. So glad the information center recommended it. I will defintely stay here again on my next visit to Charlottesville. Loved it!!!!

When visiting Charlottesville, there is no question that I will frequent this lovely place every chance I get. Everything about my stay was stellar: location, setting, decor, house-made cookies, healthy & delicious breakfasts, linens... Each guest room affords exceptional privacy. Meeting and getting acquainted with Ms. Carolyn, the innkeeper, was another memorable highlight. 5 stars, indeed!
