Set in the historic "Anchorage House," The Rhein River Inn in Buchanan, Virginia is a family-friendly bed & breakfast and German restaurant offering guests a welcome respite from the bustle of the city. Nestled in the gateway to the Shenandoah Valley, we have scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains all around us.

Centrally located between Roanoke and Lexington, we are close to all sorts of adventures, or you are welcome to enjoy a quiet cup of tea or wine on our porch or in our gardens. Since we hope to provide a quiet get-away for all our guests, we are totally non-tech and do not offer Wi-Fi or TVs in our rooms. We hope you will let us spoil you in our luxurious, restful rooms, set in period decor and drapery of the 1850's - you'll feel like you stayed on the set of Gone With The Wind!

Check In Policy:
Guests are welcome to check in to their room anytime after 2pm but special arrangements may be available for early check in or holding of luggage if needed when arrangements are requested in advance.
Check Out Policy:
Check out time is 11am but special arrangements may be available in advance for later check out or holding of luggage if needed.
Cancellation Policy:
A $25 non-refundable cancellation fee is charged when a reservation is cancelled within 7 days of arrival date. The fee will be deducted from a future stay at our Inn if the next reservation takes place within one calendar year.
Children: Children Welcome
Well-mannered children are welcome and we can provide an air mattress for up to two small children (6 & under) or one older child (7 to 17). Any larger families would require both rooms with one adult present in each room with minor children at all times.

Deposit Policy:
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance payable at check out.

Pets Living At Inn: Yes
We have our own affectionate cat and dog which guests may meet during their stay and should be aware of in case of allergies. Our pets are not permitted in the guests rooms or in the dining area but are kept in our private quarters when not outside.
Smoking: No
We are completely a non-smoking facility both inside and outside in all public and private areas of the building due to allergies.
