Grunberg Haus Bed & Breakfast Inn and Cabins a Waterbury, VT Bed & Breakfast

Availability

An authentic Austrian chalet inn, Grunberg Haus Bed & Breakfast open year around is located in Waterbury, VT midway between the resorts of Stow and Sugarbush (each about 13 to 14 miles away). Treasure a wonderful night's sleep in a cozy quilt covered bed and wake to savor the smell of freshly baked breads and muffins. Wander along the trails through the surrounding maple and pine forest. Luxuriate before a toasty, crackling fire or under the stars on our garden deck. Life here in the mountains of Vermont is slow, simple, and relaxing.

Breakfast at the Grunberg Haus features homemade breads, fresh fruit creations and hearty main dishes. Enjoy pumpkin apple streusel muffins, maple-poached pears, and ricotta-stuffed French toast. Or sample omelet’s made of freshly gathered eggs and Vermont cheddar cheese, served with a fresh fruit sundae and lemon bread baked from an heirloom recipe. Afternoon snacks include coffee, tea, cocoa, cider and popcorn in the self-serve BYOB pub and outside on the garden deck.

Our secluded, but central, location puts lots of adventure just outside our door. You’ll find specialty food producers with tours and demonstrations, including Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream factory, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, and Cabot Cheese AnnexFree. There is also snowshoeing or back country skiing on the 50 acres of forest trails behind the inn (we have a few snowshoes you can borrow to use here). Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are available too at Trapp Family Lodge and ten cross-country touring centers. Spend a day at the slopes (at a great discount), then a sleigh ride through Vermont's "postcard" scenery. Enjoy a wonderful dinner at an area restaurant, then relax in front of our fireplace and toast some marshmallows before bedtime.

Visit us for the perfect Vermont mountain experience.
