Every morning starts with a homemade breakfast, served in the first-floor dining room. The menu changes daily, but you can count on a hearty meal. We're always adding new favorites to the menu, such as apple clafouti or cherry corn scones. And we offer plenty of our own homemade delights, including granola, blue-ribbon-winning jams, and breads.

A week at The Comstock House was an "over the moon" experience! I travelled to beautiful scenic vistas each day and was still so pleased to come "home" to the Comstock House, deciding that the views from my window were the best. The Comstock Room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable. I loved the experience of being in an old home that has been so carefully restored that one enjoy's all the comfort of a new home in the ambience of a time gone by. The Innkeepers, Warren and Ross, were available and attentive to any and all requests and being in their home was a joyl Ross met my car in the rain with an umbrella and the welcome continued on from there. They are both excellent cooks and the breakfasts were delicious. The coffee cup refills and the pleasant atmosphere that the hosts encourage was a great start to each day. I look forward to returning with more of my family in

The inn is very clean and has a spectacular location that is restful and convenient to much of Central Vermont attractions. Fresh, local ingredients used for the delicious and satisfying breakfasts. Would definitely recommend the inn to friends, family, and fellow Bed & Breakfast travelers!!

Warren and Ross are excellent hosts. The breakfasts are amazing, all made for you on the spot with great ingredients like fresh fruit, homemade jam and great coffee. The nights are quiet and relaxing and the views of rolling hills and green pastures are gorgeous. If you're lucky the lambs will be right outside and the yard will be full of daffodils. I will definitely be coming back for more visits.

We just love the Comstock House. Owners Warren and Ross provide a truly warm and friendly atmosphere in the beautiful Vermont hills. Accommodations are clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast is delicious, with lovely surprises like edible flowers; and it's different every day. The scones are beyond compare! We'll certainly keep returning.

My boyfriend and I received a gift certificate for our weekend away, and I'm sure glad that we did. The house is beautifully decorated, and the innkeepers are fantastic. The breakfasts were tremendous - each morning is different, and it's all farm fresh ingredients. Our room on the top floor has windows with views of practically every side of the house overlooking the farm and the mountains. Thankfully, I have a soft spot for adorable sheep, because they have plenty! Their adorable dog was a treat for me as well - she warmed up to me with puppy kisses before we left. It was quiet, warm and friendly and I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is considering staying here. Depending on the time of year you visit, there may or may not be much to do around the area (it was raining our whole trip, so we went into Montpelier for a meal and played a lot of Scrabble), but to have a place like this to stay in makes it worth it. If you browse through their guestbook you'll find nothing but stellar reviews. My recommendation: stay with Warren and Ross, take advantage of the wonderful food and company, and enjoy!

This is a wonderful, homey inn on the most beautiful property in Vermont. Great views of the farm and the mountains, and the sheep and other animals grazing in the pasture. It's the ultimate in a peaceful retreat, yet near enough to visit Vermont's attractions. The food was wonderful and the innkeepers are kind and welcoming. I'm so glad I stayed here and I plan to return. This is not to be missed.

I recently stayed at The comstock House B&B in Plainfield, VT. A group of long-time girl friends met there, a gathering we have every year. We enjoyed our stay there enormously. The hosts, Ross and Warren, were so accommodating to our needs and did everything to make our stay and pleasant and memorable one. The accommodations were lovely and so very comfortable. I'd recommend The Comstock House to anyone visiting Vermont.
