Common Room A second common room, referred to as the Gathering Room, well deserves its name. This is where the largest fireplace in the inn is located (just one of 14!), which features the original iron cooking ware, circa 1764. Walls feature floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, containing many first editions and Ninteenth century books belonging to the Isham collection.

Ethan Allan Named after the Revolutionary War hero, this is a very secluded first-floor room, with a private outside entrance and deck with views of the Green Mountains; it's almost like having a cottage inside an inn. This room was honored as a Waverly Room of the Year by Country Inns ("for a beautiful use of Waverly in a traditional setting") and features a handsome, ornate queen canopy bed and a slim-line digital flat-screen TV.The room is noted for romantic appointments, for example the fireplace can be viewed from both the bed and from the Jacuzzi for two (behind special raised-paneled doors). The bathroom is fully tiled and also contains a shower.

Library In the 1800's this was Edward Isham's personal library. A first-floor corner room, located just off the Gathering Room. Most books that line these shelves are from Isham's collection, including some first edition books. The window treatments and bed linens add a warm and comfortable feeling to this Colonial-style room. A queen canopy bed facing the wood-burning fireplace (available year round) is just the invitation for romance. The hand-hewn beamed ceiling dates from 1764. Note the beautiful detailed antique ceiling moldings. The bedroom also contains a slim-line digital flat-screen TV. The spacious bathroom has a Jacuzzi for two and a large tiled two-person shower with a built-in seat.

The king canopy bed faces the wood-burning fireplace (available year round). In this spacious room, filled with afternoon brightness, you will also find a comfortable camel-back sofa in front of the fireplace, writing desk for your convenience, and a slim-line digital flat-screen TV with a DVD/CD player. With a step up, you arrive into the bathroom, luxuriously tiled, featuring a corner Jacuzzi-for-two and a two-person shower which also doubles as a steam sauna, complete with a marble seat. A cozy, comfortable sitting room adjoins the bedroom, which features a refrigerator awaiting your arrival stocked with special goodies. This sitting room will also accommodate a third person.

Lincoln Suite Named after Robert Todd Lincoln, best friend and law partner of Edward Isham, the second largest guest room, located on the second floor, is another corner room. It features a wood-beaded ceiling and a magnificent king bow-top canopy bed and camel-back sofa, both facing the fireplace. One corner of the room has another comfortable sofa (which opens into a twin bed to accommodate a third person), as well as a chair, for relaxing, reading and watching the slim-line digital flat-screen TV. Also view the fireplace from the whirlpool, hidden behind special raised-paneled doors. The bathroom now features a shower/steam sauna for two and the quietest whirlpool for two (minimal motor noise), run by touchpad, mood light in the water, and pulsating jets -- the ultimate whirlpool.
