The Fitch Hill Inn Bed and Breakfast in beautiful Hyde Park, Vermont was constructed on a hilltop circa 1797 by the son of one of Hyde Park’s charter landowners, the diarist Capt. Jabez Fitch. Imagine sleeping on a great mattress, perhaps under a crocheted lace canopy, in a 200-year-old house…looking out your bedroom window to see the Green Mountains spread out before you. Imagine being treated to fresh-baked cookies and a cold glass of lemonade in the summer or hot chocolate, warm cider, or tea in the winter after you’ve arrived and gotten settled. Spend the day antiquing, hiking, or skiing. Relax on the porch or the rear deck then go out for a delicious dinner.

This wonderful Greek Revival home has been modified several time since it was first built as a one-story home, adding space and convenience for subsequent generations. It has been a farmhouse, a boarding house, a family home and, since the mid-1980’s, a bed and breakfast. Just twelve miles north of the historic village of Stowe, mid-way between Stowe Mountain, Smuggler’s Notch, and Jay Peak ski resorts, and on the edge of the Northern Kingdom, the Fitch Hill Inn is ideally situated to take advantage of all that the area offers. Come and experience the glory and tranquility of the Fitch Hill Inn Bed and Breakfast in beautiful Hyde Park, Vermont.

The innkeepers, Julie & John, are a couple of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Caring and gracious, it was their friendliness that made an excellent experience simply exceptional. As an ex-engineer, Julie keeps the facility in top shape, and John makes the best breakfast ever. Our stay at Fitch Hill Inn was easily the highlight of our visit to the Northeast.

John & Julie are the best and put their guests first in line. The bedrooms and bathrooms are super clean, real comfortable and the homemade food is delicious. Plus there were plenty of amenities around the home. We had a relaxing stay & didn't want to leave and this is one of best B&Bs we have stayed at !!! They did a fantastic job remodeling & decorating with keeping the home as original as possible. We will be back !

Fitch Hill Inn is outstanding! Our room and bed were very comfortable and the innkeepers have thought of every possible amenity to make us feel at home. The entire place is spotlessly clean, the breakfasts were imaginative and delicious, and Julie and John are full of interesting and helpful information about the area. We'll be back, and have already recommended to family. Thanks!

Julie and John are delightful hosts. We enjoyed hearing about the local history. Julie's handmade quilts are beautiful. We enjoyed John's blueberry muffins & banana pancakes. You get a discount if you have a family member @ Johnson State College. We look forward to another visit next year. Mary Ellen B.

Stayed October 21-22, 2015, traveled as a couple. This is my 1st time here. We stayed 2 nights in the Vermont Federal Room. The rooms are clean & well appointed. Fast no-hassle check-in. Very quiet, slept well. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom & upscale soft bath towels. You are welcomed at the front door with homemade cookies & Cream Sherry waiting for you in your room. Nice classy surprise. The breakfast was outstanding. All made fresh and hot. Homemade muffins, fresh hot baked fruit, French toast or waffles with pure Vermont Maple syrup. Maple cream and homemade apple butter completes it. You will not leave hungry. Good TV and WiFi service. Julie & John, Innkeepers, are 2 of the nicest people you could ever meet. I highly recommend this place.

We received a very warm welcome from Julie & John, which set the scene for an excellent stay at Fitch Hill. It's a really restful and peaceful place in an excellent spot from which to explore the area. Can recommend the gondola trip up Mount Mansfield and do visit Peacham, it's wonderful.

We were thrilled to find this jewel! Top notch, first class and quiet. Superior free breakfast, free wifi - which works swiftly with no hitches. We come to Northern Vermont often for family, and now have a second home there. Highly recommended!
