The Ruckman Haus Bed and Breakfast welcomes you to San Antonio, a city rich with the history of Texas and old Mexico. Whether you're visiting San Antonio for pleasure or on business, there is much to do and see, and Ron and Prudence would like you to think of Ruckman Haus as your home while you're here. Ruckman Haus is located 2 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio, Texas - home of the historic San Antonio Riverwalk.

Ruckman Haus is a turn-of-the-century stucco home that reflects the distinct Spanish influence of San Antonio. But, as our Inn is in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, its design also reflects the important influence of the same German settlers that arrived to found cities such as Fredericksburg in the mid-1800's. As was so very often true about homes of the period, everything about Ruckman Haus is warm and inviting, especially the public rooms where guests are encouraged to congregate.

Meals
The day begins with breakfast in the large dining room furnished in a Texas Hill Country style. Ron Ruckman, your host and chef, is pleased to offer a varied menu with his signature dishes, which include Eggs Benedict, Huevos Ruckmananza (original recipe), strawberry parfait, triple sec oranges and breakfast quesadillas. You host is also happy to modify any of his specialties or create new dishes for guests who have special dietary requests or restrictions.

Policies
Check In Policy:
Guests may check in anytime from 3 pm to 9 pm. Please call ahead of time if you wish to check in earlier or later so we can make arrangements to receive you.
Check Out Policy:
Checkout time is noon.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be received no later than 7 days before arrival. There is a $10 cancellation fee. Cancellations received less than 7 days before arrival will incur a charge equal to the single night rate for the room reserved. We understand that plans must occasionally change at the last minute and so, as a courtesy, we will make every effort to rebook. If we are able to do so, we will only charge the standard cancellation fee of $10.
Children: Children ages 6+
We only accept children ages 6 and up.
Deposit Policy:
Reservations can be made at Ruckman Haus by supplying us a major credit card (MC, VISA, AMEX, Discover), or by sending us a deposit (check or money order). Final payment at checkout can be made via any of these methods or in cash.
Pets Welcome
Being pet custodians themselves, your hosts are familiar with traveling with their pets. Please inquire about your own needs at the time you make your reservation and we will make every effort to accommodate your own special friends.
Smoking:
For the enjoyment of all of our guests, we permit smoking only outside the house - on the patio and deck and on the the grounds.
