The free-range chickens were an interesting part of this trip. Their eggs are used in the breakfast entree and are much better than those from a grocery store.

This was our second stay. We come away more relaxed than ever. The breakfast and hospitality are outstanding.This was the most relaxing weekend we've had together! The jetted tub for two was fabulous. The in room massage was great! My husband ordered a romantic package and everything was waiting in our room when we arrived! The masseusse came the second afternoon we were there, when my husband had ordered it for me. She brought a massage table she set up in our room, and it was fabulous! All the stress of the past year, I swear, melted away. You have our vote for 2008 Best Romantic Getaway! We felt so comfortable talking with the owners as if they are long time friends! We will be back, a lot, I hope!

We spent our anniversary at Great Oaks Manor and just loved it. The proprietors are wonderful, the manor is beautiful, the food fantastic, and the romance packages with Kama Sutra products are a romantic touch we love. We stayed in the Tuscan Sun room. None of the guest room walls connect with any other guest room, so privacy is assured. The jetted tub for two was so luxurious and fun, the DVD collection is great, so we watched some romantic movies and relaxed in the tub together! We felt a world away, but only drove about 20 miles from our home in Houston! Carey is a fantastic cook, and Fred is a great host, talking with the guests at breakfast and telling us the history of the manor as well as the history of the renovating they did. They really know when to talk to guests and when to leave them alone. The breakfast tables are all individual tables for two, so you can just talk to your sweetie, or join in the general conversation, it is up to you. I really liked that. We will return as often as possible.
