Guest Comments: "Best Breakfast in Texas!" "Restful and Great!" "Wonderful as Always!"

Celebrating 24 years in business, the Historic Kuebler Waldrip Haus Bed and Breakfast in New Braunfels and Gruene Texas is located just 2 miles outside the city limits. Come relax on a peaceful 43 acre ranch just 3-6 minutes from rafting or tubing on the beautiful Guadalupe and Comal rivers. Perfect for bicycling, vacations, reunions, meetings, private parties, retreats, business conferences, weddings, honeymoons and anniversaries.

When you drive up to the property, guests step back in time to a by gone era. A peace and calm will come over you as you get out of your car and go into the house. Our cats will greet you and invite you to enjoy snacks while you get to know us and them.

Genuine friendship and Texas hospitality are yours with a delightful stay in two fully restored pioneer buildings and a newly added cottage. The pioneer buildings consist of the Historic Kuebler Waldrip Haus, an original 1847 German pioneer limestone and hand hewn timber home (with a fireplace) and the Danville School, an original 1863 one-room school house. The cottage is called the Deer Haven Cottage was a building that used to be a newly built barn, a separate building (#3).

The Historic Kuebler Waldrip Haus property was first owned by Francios Guilbeau, a French-born wine merchant, credited with saving the diseased French vineyards (in 1850's) with mustang grape vine cuttings that came from the Comal County area. The original limestone structure, built in 1847 by Andreas and Catherine Pape of Hanover, Germany, was later the home of Willie and Olga Kraft and family. In 1974, I (Margy) and my sons, Dibrell, Darrell, and David began lovingly restoring the home. The separate rooms in this building are Kuebler's Kastle, Hillside Hideaway, Guilbeau Room, Katherine's Attic and Room with a View.

The Historic Danville School named for Daniel Murchison (a Texas Ranger, a member of Prince Solms' personal militia, and Captain J. C. Hays' Spy Company) was moved to our ranch from Solms in Comal County in August 1990. The school retains the original wood floors and walls and the building now has 5 baths and 5 rooms. Two of these rooms are now a suite (perfect for 2 couples or a family with children). A great place for reunions, retreats, meetings and mid-week or weekend company planning getaway or conference. The separate rooms in this building are East Room, West Room, Danville School Room Suite (2 rooms) and Porch Room.

The Deer Haven Cottage is a wonderful one-story building and separate cottage just 30 feet from the main Kuebler Waldrip Haus building. It was remodeled in 1996 and has 6 inch cement walls that were rescued from a local bank. The transformation was amazing with the adding of tile floors, siding, attention to detail and lots of love the cottage now has 3 bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and dining room, a porch and a Jacuzzi/shower bath. Popular for 2 or a family. Here you do not have to worry about the baby or the pet being too loud. Sleeps 2-6 people.

Breakfast at the Kuebler Waldrip Haus Bed and Breakfast is a large hot breakfast brunch, so come hungry! We call it lunch prevention. It may include some of the following: egg dishes, fresh fruit (strawberries, bananas, blackberries, blueberries), fresh meat, homemade breads (muffins, toast, pancakes and more), potato dishes, juice, water, milk, condiments and hot coffee and/or tea. Please let us know if you have any dietary needs when you make your reservation. Thank you.

We are 2-5 minutes from T-Bar M Tennis Resort and John Newcombs Tennis Ranch, close to San Marcos Outlet shopping, many Texas wineries and the wine tasting room in Historic Gruene, unique and antique shopping, festivals, live music and concerts, and more. See our web page for events.

TOTAL ACCOMMODATIONS include 8 separate rooms, 1 cottage and 1 suite. Each has a private bath (4 with whirlpools), two dining rooms, meeting facilities for 45 - 55 and wedding facilities - Small (inside) 45 - 50 or Large (outside) 200 - 300 people.

The summer of 2010 was a very busy time for us, and we were written up in a magazine called the Texas Hill Country Magazine. See our web page for our article called "House full of history." or search on Google using our name and the article name.

Thank you for visiting our listing on BnBFinder.com, and please let us know if you call or email that you found us on this listing. We look forward to having you as our guest, and will be waiting for your phone call.
