The Inn at 1816 Postoffice is located in the heart of Galveston’s East End Historic District. This gorgeous Victorian Bed & Breakfast Inn dates back to 1886 as a residence and later a boarding house. Over the years the home lost it’s luster until four ladies, dedicated to historical preservation, bought it with the intent of restoring it and turning it into a Bed & Breakfast Inn.- Arrangements can be made for your special trip in the horse-drawn carriage.

Even though you are within walking distance of many of the Island’s main attractions, there are bicycles available for the truly adventurous, and you can always jump aboard the trolley. Depending on your interests, you might want to spend at least one full day at the beach or within the Historic Strand Shopping District, which is home to a most electric collection of antique shops and specialty boutiques. The Strand is just two blocks away from the Inn, as is the Grand Opera House and Postoffice Street’s Artist Gallery Row. Galveston’s Yacht Club is also nearby, and the trip to Pier 21 and Galveston Bay Harbor will leave you with a true taste for fresh seafood that has made Galveston famous. The Cruise Terminal is only blocks away.
