In historic Brenham, home to Bluebonnets and Blue Bell Ice Cream, a great old building is seeing its rebirth as a premier historic inn. The Ant Street Inn combines the finest in deep south hospitality, warmth, and elegance with the conveniences and personal service of a first class hotel. Centrally located between Houston and Austin, the Inn is an inviting destination for a relaxing overnight or weekend stay while traveling for business or pleasure.
The fifteen guest rooms, having been painstakingly restored by artisans to retain their original flavor while offering the best in modern comfort and convenience, have private bathrooms, twelve foot ceilings, and polished hardwood floors with Oriental rugs, cable televisions, telephones, and individual climate control.
While in Washington County, tour Blue Bell Creameries, select vintage plants at the Antique Rose Emporium, walk through acres of seasonal flowers at Ellison's Greenhouses, or pet the miniature horses at the Monastery of St. Clare. History is relived at the Brenham Heritage Museum, the Star of the Republic Museum at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park, and at the Giddings-Wilkin House Museum. Shops and restaurants are a short stroll from the inn's front door. The Pleasant Hill Winery is just a mile South of town. Unity Theatre is next door.
The George Bush Presidential Library is half an hour away and Festival-Institute at Round Top is outstanding. Just South of Round top a few miles is The Jersey Barnyard, a dairy offering cheese made on the farm and home to Belle, the Blue Bell cow. Liendo Plantation, built in 1853 in Hempstead, is available for tours. We look forward to your visit. |

Breakfast is served downstairs at the Capital Grill, a restaurant in the inn. Order whatever you like: Eggs Benedict, eggs your way, bacon, sausage, waffles, fruit or cereals. Breakfast is included and available from 8-10:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Available 7:00-9:00 Monday through Friday.
