This Bed and Breakfast was the best one that I have ever been to! My parents have been staying there whenever they come to visit for the past 5 years, and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. The food is amazing and the rooms were elegant and very comfortable!

We recently held a wedding for our daughter at Carriage Lane Inn, located in the middle of a historic residential area in Murfreesboro, TN (about 40 minutes from Nashville and fairly close to I-24). The wedding was held in the garden, with the reception held indoors right next door. We also rented all three cottages (all very close to each other and located right next to the reception hall) for the wedding party and some out-of-town guests. What a wonderful and convenient arrangement it was! My husband and I arrived a few days before the wedding and immediately felt our stress melt away as we rocked on the back porch, laughing with friends and family.
The inn owner Sharon and her daughter Krissy were great and remembered every detail we had discussed earlier. They were flexible, calm, and helpful at all times. Krissy even arranged for the local justice of the peace to step in when our planned officiant could not make it! Wedding saved!
The rooms at Carriage Lane are all very different, but all have their own bathroom and access to a full kitchen, complete with complimentary snacks and sodas. For a group, I recommend renting the Main House--the common areas are great for mingling, and it feels like you're in someone's own home, complete with silly refrigerator magnets and family photos on the walls! One note: the Safari Room in the Main House has a very tiny bathroom and a full bed and is probably best for a young teen. We used it for a bridesmaid who could borrow my daughter's large shower in the next room, and that worked fine. For a special couple getaway, I highly recommend the VIP Suite in the yellow house--a beautiful room with its own living area and kitchen and its own outside entrance.
The cleaning staff was great also--they were easy to find if we needed anything, but still unobtrusive as they kept everything clean and restocked. We felt well cared for, but not hovered over.
As for the food, we had one continental breakfast (plus sausage and gravy biscuits that we requested) served in the Main House, and we had a special farewell breakfast in the reception hall, and both were great. Then there was the reception food, which we had arranged to be a full buffet with two entrees. The food was very good, but I should warn others that unlike most caterers, Carriage Lane does not offer a tasting to decide among the many offerings, so we ended up choosing "safe" options instead of something that might have been more interesting. I recommend insisting on at least meeting with the cook (who is a wonderful lady!), so she can advise you on the specifics of each dish.
Overall we had a great experience and highly recommend Carriage Lane, especially for anyone who wants a relaxing country-style "destination wedding".

You can't go wrong in selecting The Carriage Lane Inn in Murfreesboro, TN. Sharon Petty was extremely helpful in helping us plan our visit to the city, served up a delicious breakfast, and provided us with a clean and tastfully furnished room for our pleasure. By all means, choose The Carriage Inn.

This inn definitely rates 5 stars. It truly defines Southern hospitality. Sharon was most welcoming. Her delicious breakfasts which were served on a lovely porch in the garden carried us through all day. We would definitely return if our travels take us in that direction.
