Buckhorn Inn has been a favorite destination for discriminating visitors to Gatlinburg Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains since 1938. Located just six miles northeast of Gatlinburg in the famous arts and crafts community, the inn is conveniently located near the Greenbrier entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The inn is the only one in the Smokies that offers dinner each evening as well as a bounteous breakfast each morning. They are both served in a beautiful dining room that overlooks the mountains. These sumptuous repasts contain only the freshest and best quality ingredients.
We offer a range of accommodation, including comfortable traditional inn rooms, suites, cottages and guesthouses, all with king beds and private baths. Most of our accommodation features Jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces and outdoor decks and porches. Buckhorn Inn has also been hosting small meetings for 20 years. Colleges and universities, government agencies, health organizations, businesses and professional groups of doctors, accountants and lawyers are among those who have found the inn an ideal setting for meetings.
Beauty, peace, and solitude emanate from the pine and hemlock forest surrounding the Buckhorn Inn, while the ever-changing view of the Great Smoky Mountains across mountain meadows of wild flowers never fails to inspire the visitor. |

The rating stars say it all. While that rooms can be a little small, the view (particularly from premier rooms 1 & 2) the staff, and especially the food are truly outstanding. Do not cheat yourself by only eating breakfast at the inn. The dinner is truly not to be missed.

I surprised my husband with a anniversary getaway to the Buckhorn Inn in Gatlinburg, Tn. I wanted to do something very different. We have had 2 years of sickness with family members and this trip was well deserving.
The Buckhorn Inn gave me much more than expected. Our cottage was beautiful, comfortable and the view of the Smokey Mountains from the living room and bedroom was spectacular. More like breath taking.
The Inn is set on 25 acres. We walked a lot and because we were blown away with the scenery, we got lost in time. We sat an talked, held hand, almost a rediscovery. We lose that in our busy lives. It was wonderful to have his company again and he mine.
The food was fantastic. Every bite, every morsel. Exquisite!!! Everyone at the Inn was very nice and ready to accommodate what ever the need was. Sitting on the back porch watching the hummingbirds play, and the company of the other guest was a real treat as well.
I was so happy that I pick the Buckhorn Inn My husband talked about the beauty, the entire stay and our drive home. He told me "You did good babe".
We are becoming grandparents for the first time and we are hoping to return in 09 but more likely in 2010. There is no doubt I would recommend this Inn and the Gatlinburg area to all my friends. On a scale of 1-10, we would pick 10 +++. Fantastic getaway!

The Buckhorn Inn couldn’t be more of a contrast to the honky-tonk nature of Gatlinberg. Our stay at the Buckhorn was the perfect celebration for our 35th wedding anniversary. Located in the heart of the Arts and Crafts district, we found several quality studios and galleries within walking distance of the Inn. Although all the rooms in Cottage 1 were very comfortable, the screened porch with its view of Mt. LeConte was magnificent. Breakfasts were imaginative, dinners elegant. The nature trail was a delight, complete with nesting mute swans and pileated woodpeckers. Our hosts were gracious and we felt that when they said they hoped we’d come back, it was sincere.

The Buckhorn Inn is truly an escape from the everyday. A quiet, secluded location, the inn is a place to unwind and re-charge the batteries. The gracious owners, John and Lee Mellor, take care of each guest on a personal level. Often, you will see them serving at either breakfast or dinner. The food is fabulous. We have stayed several times at the Buckhorn and have never been disappointed in every aspect. You can't go wrong with whatever accommodation you choose -- the cottages are slightly more expensive but afford more privacy, and the rooms in the Inn are also well appointed and feel private as well. The Inn is not far from Gatlinburg, but you might be enjoying yourself so much here that you might not want to leave!

My wife surprised me with a 2 night stay at the Buckhorn for my birthday.Checkin was great, the service was great and the food was great as well. And talk about a view! While eating in the dining room, you can look out the window and see beautiful Mt. LeConte (the Smokies' highest mountain). In the area of the Inn is a number of craft shops and art galleries, which were delightful to browse. And, in addition, the Inn is only a few minutes away from downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. It was a wonderful stay.

Fantastic views matched with excellent accommodations. Wish it was a bit less expensive; love that it was away from the commercialized part of town.
